My memory is sketchy but I know this story was in one of the earlier seasons. An older guy appeared in his own cheaply made TV commercials and ended each ad with "Bye bye kids" or something along those lines.
I think he was wanted for fraud. There was an update but by the time the authorities closed in he had passed away. However, his wife was arrested and they showed footage of her in court.
Thanks :)

I know what you mean. It reminded me of the Morrie's Wigs commercial from the movie Goodfellas.
I sometimes wonder how things like the case of Ed Barbara managed to happen. I mean, this guy manages to dupe a large number of people to invest in his company because he's able to convince them that he's the only guy in the world with the "know how" to mine gold dust from sand. It just seems so unbelievably laughable in retrospect. A similar case to this Liz Carmichael and "the Dale" car. I just don't understand how people can believe that these people have the secret key to something that is so far away from what is technologically practical.
