Speaking of the intros, I am confused a bit. In some of the season 1 intros, it seems that they have clips from segments that didn't air until season 2, and so on. How did this happen?

It's just a credit sequence that was edited together during a later run of the series being used for those episodes. Probably an edit made for Lifetime's syndication runs that was carried over to these releases.
