I agree. The show was very underrated. I never sought in the first round, but I sought in reruns in the 80s and I laughed out loud on the show. Especially when mother Dexter was on.

Not sure why a lot of people are so down on this show. I have watched every episode on YOUTUBE (although most shows are syndicated/edited) and I think BOTH seasons are very good. And Phyllis is a hilarious/likable character despite her faults. Cloris Leachman deserved the awards she got for portraying her. It's too bad a few of the cast members died suddenly but Cloris was the star anyway. It was one of the highest rated shows in the first season if you check the Nielsen ratings for 1975-76. My only complaint about the show is Phyllis' short haircut in season 2. I think the hairdo from MTM show was the best. But the shows are entertaining and it should be released on DVD.

I would like to see "Phyllis" get released in its entirety to DVD too. It would complete the Mary Tyler Moore Show family of spin-offs on DVD.
However, at least the first two episodes of the show were officially released to VHS. If anyone's interested, the VHS tape is up on Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/132472200917?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) now.
