After tonight's episode of Frasier, how will you rank the reunion special and what did you like/dislike about it?

hey i liked it! tho there were some things about it i didnt like.

the entire way Carla ended was, uh...not what i expected. lol.

at least they mentioned Sam was hosting a Red Sox reunion at the bar and Woody.

did they really hate Paul that much on the series (I dont remember that...)?

oh yeah...the tribute to Al Rosen (im not Al, im Phil! Al died 14 years ago!) lol...they should have done something for Coach!

im sure ill think of more later

I wasn't that thrilled with it. It was like going to a class reunion where only the people you didn't like show up. George Wendt looks terrible - he's probably one step away from a heart attack.

The whole thing felt very contrived. Give me a Lilith episode any old day.

I thought it was a really funny episode. On Cheers they never really said if they liked Paul or not. I thought it was a good episode and the best Frasier episode all season. Carla's outburst at the end I thought was funny and how she grabbed the spear too.

I missed a portion of it, so I didn't hear the whereabouts of Sam, Woody and Rebecca. Were all 3 at Cheers hosting a Red Sox reunion??? I agree with TV Guy that George Wendt looks horrible! Phil is much older and he looks 100% times better and almost the same from the Cheers days. Since they weren't able to snatch up Rebecca,Sam,Woody or Lillith, the producers did a good job at least getting some of the more minor characters on board(Phil, Paul and even Twitchel the actual Cheers mailman!) to give it more of a Cheers feel to it. Wasn't great but it wasn't bad. Overall a Thumbs Up.

I thought it was OK. There was no reference to Rebecca. I don't remember anything about Woody being there at Cheers. If there was, then I missed something and will play the tape back.
--------------------------------------------

What are you doing these days?

Diane: Woody. How's life treating you?

Woody: I'm married now, have a kid....and was just elected to the city council.

Diane: That nice(laughs).......and next I'm next in line for the throne of England.

Woody: Maybe we'll work together sometime.....you know, hammer a treaty or somethin'.
-------------------------------------------

The Debate.

Diane: Carla, you may have the floor.... and we all know that it wouldn't be the first time.

They all got so old and fat! I know that's harsh and I'll love them forever, but they look so terrible. Yes, Wendt actually got BIGGER, but a chubby Cliff just looks weird, with his graying hair, and Paul looked like he'd been exumed, with white, thinning hair and a pastey face. Don't know why they bothered with Twitchel. He and Cliff hated each other, not to mention that he wasn't even a regular. Shocker that Phil looked the best of them all. Carla just looked older. Of course, Danson didn't have to be there for us who see him currently. Aging somewhat gracefully. And Kirstie has commercials running right now, looking ok. Woody is nearly bald. Now that I think about it, Frasier may have held up the best of them all.

As far as the script, it was ok. Thought they missed a good laugh at the end, when Carla realized Cliff was staying, I was yelling for her to say "First Diane, now you!"

I have to say, as far as looks go... Kelsey aged the best out of them all. I think Kelsey actually looks better now then 20 years ago... (that hair needed to go... LOL). Rhea definitely looks fine for her age, and John doesn't look horrible. Yes, a little chubbier... his age definitely showing through, but all in all, he was fine. George just looked horrifying! I felt bad for the man. It was horrible to see good ole Normie looking like that!

Now, had Bebe been on, she would have made them all look like old foggies... LOL. Of course, she's a lot younger than most of them. Kirstie looks like she's had a million face lifts these days. Ted, Woody, Shelley... they all look fine as of now, but of course we've seen them all over the years. I mean... George was just a MAJOR shock!!!!

The whole thing felt very contrived. Give me a Lilith episode any old day.

The ONLY thing I loved about the episode was seeing the Frasier cast coincide with some of the Cheers gang. I always imagined Norm and Martin would hit it off! I'm glad they played that out. On the whole, I have to agree with you. Give me a Lilith episode any day!! Unless they were going to do a full fledged Cheers reunion, I don't think they should have explored that at all. It left much to be desired. I find it completely unbelievable, as well, that Frasier would be at a convention in Boston and not see his son, ultimately seeing his ex-wife whom his son lives with. It just seems ridiculous to me! Perhaps it was supposed to be understood that he saw Freddie, but he could have at least made some mention of it. ;) Whatever... Cliff's retirement party didn't thrill me all that much. *sigh*

Thumbs down on the "reunion" episode of Frasier. I taped it, but I couldn't even sit and watch it. Like a previous post stated, it was all of the characters you least wanted to see. I just thought it was really forced and I didn't feel the old spirit. I think that if Ted and Shelley or Kirstie were there, along with Woody Harrelson, I think the quality would have gone through the roof. I was just really disappointed with it. I hope that the real reunion special is better than this was. :(

i watched it again and notcied a few more things...

look at the table nearest the door...see the guy w/ the white hair and beard? Isn't that one of the creators??? (i dunno which one...but isn't it??glen, les, or james)

when Frasier toasts Cliff, Carla says "I hope it means dirty". then Martin says "the great money's on long". (or somethin like that w/ the word "long"). i heard this an thought "Shelley"...but probably not lol

and when Frasier first sees Cliff at the airport bar, he looks weird just standing there.

plus...they cut some stuff out! like right before Norm walks in, Frasier says "It's so good to be back w/ everyone. But I can't help but feel that there's something missing!".
this wasn't there. o well

Boooring. I thought the show was so lame. I wasn't bothered by anyone's appearance, except for George Wendt--he is a heart attack waiting to happen.
I found the set boring, the laughs almost nonexistent, and I was disappointed.

I saw the same guy too. If it was who I thought it was, it would be James Burroughs. It looked just like him but I'm not sure if it was really him or not?!?

i was watching that Ted Danson movie instead, but from what I've heard, it doesn't sound like I really missed anything special.

Hey....No offense to anyone on here but.....try to lightin up! I think that it was probably the best things the writers could think up......I mean, yeah maybe it wasn't that great, but I enjoyed it! I haven't seen them on tv in a while and it was good to have them back for an episode. And, news flash!: People AGE OVER TIME! Its not like they can help it.

Anyway, lets try to be positive and hope for a *real* reunion one day!

Cheers!

Hey.....No offense to you but.....we're just posting our opinions of the reunion special. After all, the question was posted on this thread. There's no need for anyone to lighten up, IMO.
Glad you enjoyed the show, but everyone has their opinion.

HEY GUYS,YEAH I HAVE TO AGREE WITH FROM ALL OF WHAT I HEARD HERE AND BE MAJORITY IN THE CHEERS REUNION IT SOUNDS KIND OF CRAPPY,BUT EVEN THOUGH THIS is second hand information just from the fact that not all the main characters were in it kind of tells us that it quite hold up somehow really.I guess it was better that I missed it,but I did want to see it just to see how the characters were and see what it would be like more out of curiostiy and interest more then really really really despertally wanting to see it at all and seeing it because I thought it would be an good show, but I guess it must not have that good for most of you.I was defintilly sure just from the clips I saw on entertainment tonight and the fact that the supporting and I would have to say less signifgant characters were in it.Not that they aren,t all signifgant, but still I don,t think there as signi***ant as the ones that were absent, but from what I saw it didn,t look all that promising, but I guess it was a chance to get back some kind of small part of our wonderful show even if it was crappy still WE SHOULD STILL HAVE HOPE FOR A REAL CHEERS REUNION WITH ALL THE CAST IN IT AND SEE OUR FAVORITE ACTORS AND OF COURSE THE MAIN CHARACTERS THIS TIME.I,M HOPING THIS ISN,T ALL WE GET FOR A REUNION,I DEFINTLLY SOMEWHERE SEE THEM DOING A ACTUAL CHEERS REUNION SET IN THE BAR WITH THE WHOLE CAST.SORRY IT LET MOST OF YOU GUYS DOWN.NOW WE JUST STILL NEED TO KEEP WAITING FOR OUR REAL CHEERS REUNION.KEEP LOOKING AND I DEFITNLLY THINK IT WILL COME.CHEERS!

As much as I hate to say this, I get a feeling that when/if they do a reunion special, it'll be more of a retrospect than an actual mini movie like the Facts of Life earlier this year. That would be fine, but I like reunions that are acted out rather than talked about. I'm not a Cheers expert, but I know enough about the show. I want to see Sam, Diane, Woody, Rebecca, Carla, Norm and Cliff all together working off eachother. My fear is that Danson and Alley have said in the past they never want to reprise those roles again.

What I was wondering, is why did Ted Danson repaise is role on Frasier in the ........... i think 2nd or 3rd season? And..........Kirstie Alley.........what a butt-munch (No offense to people who like her) She is the only one that hasn't come back on frasier. I was more surprised about shelley on frasier..........god.........COME ON KIRSTIE AND TED!! BE HAPPY!!!!!!

What in the world is a butt-munch? lol. Kirstie Alley's probably very busy with her career as the Pier 1 Import spokesperson. lol again.
I wish I knew her reasons for distancing herself from Cheers.
Anyone know? I don't see a huge film career on the horizon for her, so I don't think it's fear of typecasting.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Shelley Long on the NBC 75th Anniversary Special. Whatever problems transpired eons ago have obviously dissipated. Great seeing Ted Danson too. No Kirstie there either.

I think Kirstie may still be mad at NBC for cancelling Veronica's Closet and not letting her have more creative control or something like that.

Veronica's Closet was a mess and should've been cancelled a lot earlier in it's life than when it was. I would understand the typecasting thing if she actually had a career. What the hell was the last movie she made??? (Mad House, Sibling Rivalry) Who cares?!? Is Kirstie actually saying that she would rather be known as a Pier 1 shill instead of reprising a role that actually helped her career? Bad move!

One other thing before I forget, the Cheers tribute they did for NBC's 75th Anniversary proved one thing to me. It proved that if anything Cheers wouldn't have been Cheers if not for Shelley Long's contribution. If there's gonna be any reunion, NBC would have enough class to add her in it!
