View Full Version : My Tablet is Broken!
MrCleveland 02-04-2017, 11:51 AM I was playing a game and my tablet restarts on me...usually it would take 3-5 minutes when it restarts on me...this time, it didn't even take me back to my home page...so with frustration...I banged on it and part of the screen is shattered!
So I restarted it by using the reset button, I tried to turn it on...nothing! I tried charging it and usually it would show the battery recharging...this time it didn't!
I got my tablet last July and now it looks like I have to send it to a repair shop!
When it comes to tablets, iPads are the only viable option. If you can't afford an iPad, get an inexpensive smartphone with a large screen, or cheap laptop with touchscreen.

I agree! An iPad mini would be a great bet. Mine has worked like a charm for quite a few years!
MrCleveland 02-08-2017, 01:41 PM I got an RCA model and from what I heard...they're **** (some only lasted seven hours...luckily mine lasted seven months)! I paid under $120 so I might as well get a better one!
And if I ever get anything RCA...It's the cables...I can never get enough of these!

Sounds crappy. iPad or bust when it comes to tablets.

I even read the Amazon reviews and there's 102 critical and 101 positive reviews!
Ron Ron 02-08-2017, 03:07 PM Ipad mini is the best. I don't understand the negative ones because I've loved mine and haven't had any problems.
pkripper001 02-08-2017, 03:29 PM Tablets are never to be banged on,even with frustration. For most likely less then a repair bill to fix your tablet,in my surrounding area is an ipad Black for $53.49. RCA is now just a name and do not expect quality from them like they had decades ago.
IllinoisTVFan 02-08-2017, 08:43 PM My first tablet was RCA and it was crappy. I then got a brand I forget but my dog decided to chew it. I then bought an Amazon Fire but it's working weird so I have two others: my mom's Amazon Fire and a larger tablet I bought to hook up my Google Home I got for Christmas (still haven't and since my mom's death feel like not doing it now). Tablets don't last long is what I was told.
robyrob 02-08-2017, 11:21 PM I dropped my tablet about a week ago and cracked the screen - it amazingly still works, but the touch screen was going crazy so I had to reboot and disable the touch screen driver. I reordered a newer version of the same one - its an iRulu WalknBook. I like it because it has the full version of Windows10, detachable keyboard, HDMI out, usb ports, lots of memory and overall good performance.
I don't think it would be worth it to fix a tablet with a cracked screen - it most likely cost as much to fix as it would to replace.

I love Apple products and the iPads in particular. Same here, no problems yet.
If you get an iPad you definitely need a case for it, and most certainly don't want to bash it in frustration, however the quality should be to where you wouldn't want to anyway.
MrCleveland 02-11-2017, 12:26 PM I'm NOT getting a Samsung either...those things can catch fire!
Flying Dutchman 02-11-2017, 05:26 PM I have a Lenovo, 11.9 inch screen Tablet with windows 10. I bought mine 7 months ago at Best Buy for $179, came with a free year of Microsoft word 365. Not that, that's a good thing, because Microsoft is not making Word as good as they used to. This one has so many flaws. The Tablet itself though, has been real good, but the Keyboard leaves allot to be desired. And it has no DVD player, but I use a plug n play usb player, I also bought at Best Buy. After my 365 trial has ended, I am selling this one cheap and buying a new bigger one.
