It seems to happen a lot in sitcoms. A vacation is planned to go to a nice cabin. As it turns out the cabin ends up being a really run down, dump!

I can think of two, lets try to think of some more! ;)

Kate and Allie, Season 5 Episode 15, "Almost Married." Kate and Allie and their boyfriends go away to the country for the weekend and the "cabin" is a dirty shack. It turns out that shack was the caretaker's cabin, the house they were meant to stay in was beautiful, and they move to that house by the end of the episode.

A variation of the same thing happens in an episode of "Absolutely Fabulous" except they don't find out until they're leaving.

Its not a "run down cabin" but a funny cabin episode on Married....With Children On Al's week off, Steve treats him to a week-long fishing trip at a cabin in the woods. But the rest of the family spoils the fun by insisting they come along as well. Soon after arrival, Al, Steve and Bud mourn what might have been a great week when it turns out to be the wrong time of the month for Peggy, Marcy and Kelly.

The Simpsons have done some cabin episodes, but they've been on for 27 years, so any sitcom plot you name, they've done :)

yes, there was. It's called "GHOST OF A CHANTZ". Alan invites Rob, Laura, Buddy and Sally (I guess Pickles doesn't exceist LOL) to a hotel on him for the weekend. When they get there though they find that Mel forgot to make their reservations. The owner tells them they can stay at a cabin that's nearby. When they get there all these mysterious things start happening, then Sally, Buddy and Laura disappear one by one leaving Rob there alone when Mel surprises him and tells him that they've all been on a new hidden-camera show that Alan's making.

I have another rundown cabin entry:

Taxi - "Call of the Mild" - I love this episode, especially the blueberries bit and the ending.

There was a cabin episode on "My Three Sons" too. Rob and Katie chaperoned Chip and his friends in a nice cabin.

I just remembered another one, SOAP. Danny invited Burt to a cabin to kill him. It didn't look too rundown, but it was dirty. They also did an episode with Eunice and Dutch hiding out in a farmhouse.

Ann's "Married Man" also owned a cabin, and when the guys went ice fishing the place was at least kind of a cabin (maybe more of a shack)
