Peter Capaldi will depart "Doctor Who" after the upcoming tenth season.
The actor, who joined the series in 2013 following the departure of Matt Smith as the time-traveling Doctor, made the announcement during an interview with BBC Radio 2 on Monday.
The official "Doctor Who" Twitter account tweeted Monday, "BREAKING NEWS! “It (the new series of Doctor Who) will be my last… I feel it’s time to move on.” - Peter Capaldi #DoctorWho"
