Hello! I apologize if this is not the correct place for this question, but it has been bothering me for weeks...enough so that I have gotten out of bed to join this forum to ask around. Hopefully somebody can help! :)
Some time ago, I saw a clip from an classic show (Andy Griffith? Dick Van Dyke? I believe it was from that era). During this particular clip, there were 2 gentleman (they were standing up) speaking with a teenager/young man (who was seated). They were in one of the men's office. I'm not sure what triggered the discussion, but it was the punchline/lesson of the episode.
In it, the kid had made some remark about having it tough, and something that vaguely felt like generic entitlement, and the adults (one in particular) went into a long-winded and very wise explanation that, while the young man may THINK he has it tough, EVERYBODY has it tough, and things used to be tougher. The man goes on to lists all the things he should be thankful for (a car, refrigerators, that sort of thing).
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the show, or the quote. HOWEVER, I DID see it circulate around Facebook some months ago as a video clip being used to jab at some political views that were going around at the time. I Google'd the quote, and it was logged in IMDB as one of the famous lines from that particular episode. Shortly after I found it, my power went out, and the page has since eluded me. Can anyone out there PLEASE help me out with this? I know for sure that it is not the episode on Andy Griffith, where Opie meets the spoiled brat.
