I remember this being basically a short clip in a series of individuals that were wanted or are on the run. Aired in the late eighties. Basically from what I remember it was a case where a man found out that his wife, who I think was Korean, wanted to divorce him and leave with their kids to Korea. At least that is the theory. The man proceeded to kill his wife and I think children, but I can't be certain. He vanished after that. I want to say he was a solider, but maybe I'm just getting that part confused with the Billy Ray Hargrove case.

Are you confusing Su-Ya Kim's case with another?

Nah it's not that one. I'm going through old episodes recently. When I get to it I'll post it. From what I remember it's also on the wiki page. I just can't find it. Maybe it wasn't Korea.

Great minds think alike! Haha.
It would've been interesting if they had done a full segment on this case. The segment was so short, I don't even think they mentioned the children's names :(

Was a motive ever established as to why he killed his wife and two children?

It was a very brief mention that it was linked to her filing for divorce. Seems he bought a house had a kid in quick succession, he may have snapped no excuse though.

Edward John Zakrzewski Jr is currently on death row at Union Correctional Institution in Florida. He has been there since 1996 and is now 52 years old and still in the appeals process. Always interesting to read the court opinions of this and many other cases.
