Kristen Wiig Joins "The Last Man on Earth" in Mystery Recurring Role

Another SNL all-star has been sucked into Will Forte’s sublime apocalypse.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Forte’s former SNL colleague Kristen Wiig is headed to Fox’s "The Last Man on Earth" later this season in a top-secret recurring role. A Fox spokesperson declined to comment.

"The Last Man on Earth" is scheduled to resume its current third season on March 5.

Kick open the doors and spread the news: Kristen Wiig is rolling into the spring premiere of "The Last Man on Earth".

The actress, who traded quips with "Last Man" creator/star Will Forte for years on SNL and in MacGruber, will appear in multiple episodes of the post-apocalyptic comedy. What do we know about her character? Almost nothing! But this photo sheds a little light.



According to the network, the spring premiere brings us the first moments of the outbreak of the virus, and it appears here that she’s doing her best to avoid contracting the deadly disease by constructing a homemade Hazmat suit. The purple gloves are a nice touch, and pair well with the sky-blue mask. It also looks like she’s going shopping.

"The Last Man on Earth" returns to Fox on March 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Does she need this or is it mostly out of friendship with Will Forte? I suspect it's from liking Will. It's far too quirky and not a good show. If she wants to get back into TV she can star in a real sitcom and possibly do something top notch. This is a waste of time for her and will possibly devalue her talent and career.

Forte is a funny guy and could be great as a supporting actor in a show. Make him a lead actor and let him call the shots, and he gets too weird. He should be playing support to her in a more classic themed show and they might make something great, instead of just weird.

Kristen Wiig is Back for "The Last Man on Earth" Season 4

Kristen Wiig, who appeared twice in "The Last Man on Earth" Season 3 as socialite-turned-crazy-bunker-lady Pamela, will be back in at least three episodes of Season 4, including the premiere.

She was last seen in the final scene of the Season 3 finale, killing Pat (Mark Boone Junior) as he prepared to shoot Phil, and that’s where the action will pick up in the premiere.
