I agree. Some of these episode titles make no sense and can actually be misleading which is why I chose not to use them. I think using the actual names of the people and including not only the order of the segments but also the time stamps where each individual segment begins and ends is the easiest way to navigate through them.

Yes, I did find it strange that the Queen Mary was shown in place of the Gulf Breeze segment. I guess UM is trying to distance themselves from Gulf Breeze since it was exposed as a fraud. The segment wasn't even included on their UFO DVD set from several years back.

Wish they would include it for completist purposes especially since it is a long segment and the update pretty much flat out says it was a fraud

I was really looking forward to seeing that segment in good quality myself. Even though it was a hoax all along and I'm not really big on the UFO segments, that was the original UM UFO segment and I always found it entertaining.

This is correct. There are several instances of "reruns" in season one. Usually, it's just the update to the original story though and is only a few minutes long.

I noticed that the number of eps on Amazon is far fewer than what are listed in the first season of the Episode Guide here.

I was hoping that this was due to later episodes with rerun segments being condensed into each other, but it sounds as if material may be missing which is a shame.

Judging from the descriptions above (Thanks HotJock!), it seems that they are using the 10/26/88 (S01 E03) episode sometimes known as "Hauntings" or "Halloween" to plug up holes in various other episodes. It makes sense since this episode was devoted exclusively to ghost stories/"The Unexplained" segments and instead of grouping these similar cases together they are using them as place holders for segments they are choosing not to include in the series such as "Gulf Breeze" or "Janet Parker O'Regan".

I think it's funny that the Dave Davis case is listed in the description as "Thumbs". WTF?

Dave Davis had a condition known as splade thumbs or hammerhead thumbs which is one means the authorities thought could be useful in identifying him while he was on the lam.

Hot Jock
01-23-2017, 10:35 PM
Yeah, I kind of noticed that the "Halloween" episode was chopped up and being used all over the place. There are several season one segments that are conspicuous by their absence so far. Another odd thing was that the John Nellis segment is included amongst these season one episodes. That segment didn't even originally air until 8/28/91 which was the tail end of season three. A strange one to find here, for sure.

DarkDante

This is correct. There are several instances of "reruns" in season one. Usually, it's just the update to the original story though and is only a few minutes long.

One of the practices that UM used frequently was to frankenstein episodes (for lack of a better term). What they would do is take the majority of the segments already featured in a previously aired episode and insert one new segment usually at the lead making a "Frankenstein" in the process. In one case when "Lifetime" purchased the syndication rights to UM, they picked up one of the rebroadcasts instead of the original choosing to assimilate 5/31/89 (S01 E27) into syndication instead of the original broadcast 11/23/88 (S01 E07)

Curiously, the Todd McAfee case (still unsolved) is missing. Same with the Mike Riemer/Diana Robertson segment. IIRC, both were featured during the original season 1 run.

Both Mike Riemer and Todd McAfee were known as "Summertime Specials" which meant that they were assimilated into existing episodes during the summer of 1989 when UM was on summer recess. So technically they are not part of season one or season two so it will be interesting to see how/if they are assimilated into the streaming format. Hopefully they get dropped in somewhere much as Lifetime allowed us to view the Riemer episode as part of their syndication package but not McAfee.

I noticed that the number of eps on Amazon is far fewer than what are listed in the first season of the Episode Guide here.

I was hoping that this was due to later episodes with rerun segments being condensed into each other, but it sounds as if material may be missing which is a shame.

As I've mentioned previously there will be segments that will likely be forever lost to time. This is not due to any error on CM's part but instead likely date back to decade old issues regarding the syndication or in this case re-distribution of these segments. It's unfortunate that fans won't get to see these segments but real life sometimes gets in the way of entertainment. That being said, 99% of the segments are there and the fact that they are producing "new Frankensteins" allows for the intriguing possibility that the "Summertime Specials" or maybe even "Final Appeal" segments could be assimilated into the streaming package. Stay tuned!

I've been watching these all day, even though I have a good chunk of these segments on DVD or VHS already! It's just a different experience watching these in high quality, with the original cues, intros and such.

Man, one case I gotta call out.... Lee Selwyn's. I've only ever seen the Lifetime version with the update, thus the description of the suspect and his vehicle was truncated (as it usually is when a case is updated). I was hoping that it was included in this, and it was... and I was mentally prepared for a terrifying composite considering the REAL person was terrifying enough with his crazy eyes, and the road rage circumstances. Boy, I was not disappointed. I don't think I've ever seen a composite on UM (or America's Most Wanted) with *gritted teeth*. Thank goodness I didn't see the segment when I was 7 - I wouldn't have been able to sleep until at least 1992!

What's weird is that they dropped the Gulf Breeze UFO segment and the Janet O'Regan segment episodes from "season 1" (due to legal reasons and because the Gulf Breeze segment turned out to be a hoax), yet they didn't replace them with the McAfee or Riemer segments. And they definitely modified some episodes. For example: Anne Hearin was first featured on the episode which had the 2nd part of the Son of Sam segment, along with Janet O'Regan, and Bob Dozier/John Russell. For the streaming episode, they have the General Wayne Inn (Halloween ghost episode originally) first, then the Gretchen Burford segment (which didn't air until season 2), followed by the Son of Sam part 2, then Anne Hearin. Seems to me like they could've spliced in some of the summer special segments into the streaming episodes. The Tallman's ghost segment is also missing from the streaming season 1.

Does FilmRise have an email? We should bombard them with emails asking why certain episodes aren't there

Perhaps the following should be stickied at the top of this thread:

The fact that the UM streaming content does not accurately represent the episodes as originally broadcast is likely not due to some oversight or error. The segments that have been omitted thus far have all been cited as being the subject of either legal or royalty issues in the past. For example, the Burr/Malden PSS would likely involve the payment of royalties to the estates of both deceased actors if they were assimilated into streaming format. CM obviously has a deal in place that allows them to assimilate the Robert Stack episodes into the streaming package but the PSS is likely another issue all together. It will be interesting to see how they handle the segments hosted by Keely Shaye Smith and Virginia Madsen once the streaming package reaches those episodes.

Likewise there have been reported issues (both legal and otherwise) regarding segments that were hosted by Robert Stack. For example the first "Lost Loves" case ever broadcast was of a woman named Janet Parker O'Regan who was looking for her long lost father. UM helped her locate the family of her father (who was deceased) but the family in question requested UM not rebroadcast the segment as they didn't want the fact that Janet's father had a child out of wedlock to be publicized. Throughout the run of the series, various individuals profiled would also take issue with the way they were portrayed in various segments and the result would be that their segments were pulled from contention in terms of syndication and now likely streaming packages.

Likewise this would be as good of place as any to restate that there are probably any number of cases that have been pulled from the streaming package for reasons we aren't privy to. The ones we know about date from contemporary articles on the subject matter. There are likely other segments that aren't allowed to be assimilated into the streaming package for reasons that were never publicized.

Your suggestion would've been the most obvious way of mending certain episodes without disrupting the content of others in the process. In regards to the "Gulf Breeze" segment, there are other segments aired throughout the series that have long since been debunked as hoaxes. So it will be interesting to see if these segments are omitted as well. My two cents worth is that the debunking of the Gulf Breeze UFOs has nothing to do with why it was never assimilated into syndication and now streaming. Instead it may has something to do with how the principle party was portrayed especially in the second "Gulf Breeze" segment produced by UM (10/3/90 - S03 E03). I can't recall where on this forum it's archived but I swear there were some reports about the Gulf Breeze segments being problematic. Anyhow it's something to pin our hopes on anyhow, because if debunked segments are being intentionally omitted from being included in the streaming package, well there are bunch more of those out there besides "Gulf Breeze"!

The guide for season one is currently complete. There is a possibility that they could expand season one before adding season two, as they have already done this with the Farina episodes since putting them up for streaming. I certainly hope that is the case here since we are missing more than a handful of what I would consider "essential" season one segments.

Off the top of your head, which are missing from Season 1 so far?

Obviously all of the segments from the first three specials. Other than that:

Steve Hadley
Gulf Breeze UFO (we're not getting it)
Tallman's Ghost
Janet Parker O'Regan (we're not getting it)
Lancaster Extortion Letters
California sea lion murders (kind of glad it was left out tbh)
The Liebling
Wild horse deaths in the desert
Marlene Santana
The Sara Jo
Charles Wickman
Julie Cross
Kathy Power
Ron Rushton
David Rhodes
Weinberg Family
Markings on Mars
Walter Wenke/Ronald Enzlo
Stolen art
Diane Robertson/Mike Reimer
Todd McAfee

I'm sure there's more that I'm leaving out, but there are definitely a lot of good ones missing.

That's my number one most wanted segment that they left out of season one. Also, both of the "lost at sea" segments would be nice; The Liebling and The Sara Jo. Also, I think the Tallman's Ghost segment is essential. I don't even believe in ghosts, but that segment was the most well done of all of them IMO.

Liz Carmichael and Joe Shepard are there.

Note that in the guide, they are indicated as repeats from previous episodes, so it makes sense that they are there. But they didn't post any of the new cases spotlighted from Ep 25 on.

It's not perfect, and I figured we would have this situation and they wouldn't post everything like they claimed in the press release, but I'm still grateful that we have anything at all.

They still have the update music. I haven't noticed any 'next' cuts to commercial breaks since there are no commercials. They just go to the next case with the music: whoooosh ...da dum dum dum dum, da dum dum dum dum......."MYSTERIOUS LEGENDS" shows up on screen....or "WANTED"...

I think it's funny that the Dave Davis case is listed in the description as "Thumbs". WTF?

I think it's because in his suspect description (AFAIK, only shown in the original broadcast from November 1987), Davis was described as having unusually shaped thumbs, with thick knuckles. There was even a picture of his hand.

(The only reason I know this is because a couple years ago Vimeo had a bunch of UM segments and a few complete original episodes, one of which was Special #4 - Robert Stack's first episode.)

Hello,

Now it's possible they could edit in segments from Season 1 in Season 2. You never know. But missing so far is:

Nice list. My comments are below. Please note these are my opinions, and I don't actually know the real reasons certain segment were not included in the recent release.

The entire Raymond Burr episode
All Karl Malden episodes

Probably excluded because these episodes were not hosted by Stack and it would be too costly or difficult to get the rights from the Burr and Malden estates to include them. These episodes were never shown on Lifetime either in the old days. The individual segments didn't surface on TV until the Farina episodes were created, but since they were reshot and renarrated by Farina it was a moot point who the original hosts were. Incidentally, even the Farina incarnation left out the Rolex Robbers segment, so it truly hasn't been seen on television since the 1980s.

(2/5/1988) Lost Loves: Heirs of Charlie Scheel (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Heirs_of_Charlie_Scheel)

The resolution was kind of a downer. IIRC he abandoned his family. I think a daughter was located and claimed the estate, possibly before the episode even aired in 1988 as every version of it I have ever seen has an "update." Perhaps the family was contacted and didn't consent to it being streamed or maybe the producers figured it was best to let it go given the circumstances.

(Most of the 5/6/1988 episode has been used as filler) Missing is: Wanted: Steve Hadley (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Steve_Hadley)

Hadley has since done his time and been released. Maybe they want to let him get on with his life, or he specifically asked for it not to be included.

(10/5/1988) The Unexplained: Gulf Breeze UFO (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Gulf_Breeze_UFO)

I don't think these ever materialized in any incarnation after their original broadcasts in the 1980s and 1990 for the update. I'm not sure why, but I often wondered if Ed Walters or perhaps some of the townspeople who realized they were duped were unhappy with their portrayal or various aspects of the segment and threatened suit or something.

(Most of the 10/26/1988 episode has been used as filler) Missing is: The Unexplained: Tallman House (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Tallman_House)

Strangely missing from the Farina version as well. Maybe the family wants to be left alone. Even though they were interviewed in silhouette, they are easily findable.

(11/2/1988) Wanted: Bank Robber Roll Call: Chevy Chase Bandit (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Chevy_Chase_Bandit), John William Farr (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/John_William_Farr), Shotgun_Bandit (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Shotgun_Bandit), Shopping Bag Bandit (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Shopping_Bag_Bandit)

The guy that was the Chevy Chase Bandit died semi-recently. He had served his time and been out of prison for several years. It is probably difficult to ascertain at this juncture what became of these robbers, if they were ever caught, and, if not, is anyone really still actively looking for them given the passage of time.

(11/9/1988) Wanted: Bob Dozier and John Russell (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Bob_Dozier_and_John_Russell)

These guys were caught and prosecuted years later. They served their time and were released. I don't think they cooperated with authorities or explained what happened to the two women. Kind of a weird situation given that two women are still missing but maybe the fact that these guys are back in regular society is the reason this didn't make it.

Lost Loves: The Father of Janet O'Regan (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/The_Father_of_Janet_O%27Regan)

The family threatened to sue, IIRC, because Janet was the product of an affair.

(11/23/1988) Updates on Bob Dozier and John Russell and the Shopping Bag Bandit, Wanted: Lancaster Extortion Writer (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Lancaster_Extortion_Writer)

All since released after brief stints in prison.

(12/14/1988): The Mystery of Bruno and Bobo (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Bruno_and_Bobo)

I don't think it made it to the Farina episodes. Statute of limitations? The men they did apprehend did their time and were released long ago.

(12/21/1988) Updates on Steve Cox and Lancaster Extortion Writer

The former is pointless. The parties in the latter have been released.

(1/18/1989) (Episode 14 is this episode) Missing Persons: The Crew of the Liebling (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/The_Crew_of_the_Liebling)

No clue. Maybe the family assumes they were lost at sea and wants to move on. The segment had some scenario about them possibly being in South America. At the time this originally aired, it might have been considered a plausible possibility, but has been lessened with the passage of time.

(1/25/1989) (Episode 15 is this episode) Missing Persons: Marlene Santana (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Marlene_Santana) and missing baby roll call, Wanted: The Bald Mountain Shooters (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/The_Bald_Mountain_Shooters), Wanted: Robert Leeds (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Robert_Leeds)

Santana is an odd one. I don't think she was ever found, so this would be a good one to include. Also, it was Farina-ized, IIRC. The rollcall was probably lost with the original segment.

The horse killers is an odd exclusion too. I know there was an update that some men were arrested for the slayings, but the update never made it to Lifetime (even though the original segment did). Neither the segment or the update made it to the Farina series either. Given the fact that there was some controversy over whether the horses were being killed in the first place (some on the segment disputed this charge) perhaps that is why it was pulled.

Robert Leads is dead. The missing art rollcall was probably lost because it was attached to his segment. There was doubt about his guilt anyway.

(2/1/1989) The Unexplained: Face on Mars (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Face_on_Mars)

No idea. It wasn't shown in the Farina episodes either. Maybe some of the scientists involved wanted their names taken off of it. Also, I think the segment is "obsolete" as we have much clearer photos of these structures then what was available back then. Just a guess.

(2/8/1989) Wanted: Jean Marie Gagnon (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Jean_Marie_Gagnon) and wanted fugitive roll call

Gagnon served his time and was released. No clue on the roll call other then it being attached to the Gagnon segment so was axed for that reason or because finding the current statuses on these escapees and updating would be a pain in the ass. I think most of them were caught anyway, and the rollcall wasn't even shown in the various repeats of this episode on Lifetime or NBC even.

(2/15/1989) Update on the Bald Mountain Shooters, Wanted: Crazy Glue Bandit (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Crazy_Glue_Bandit)

I think the police identified the Crazy Glue Bandit but he died before he could be prosecuted. The case is officially solved, so maybe they wanted to let sleeping dogs lay. It wasn't Farina-ized either.

(2/22/1989) Update on Robert Leeds, Wanted: Robert Wenke (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Walter_Wenke), Wanted: Robert Denslow (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Ronald_Denslow)

Alot of these rollcalls probably didn't make it for reasons I explained earlier.

(3/1/1989) Update on Jean Marie Gagnon

The original segment was pulled, so why would we get an update?

(3/15/1989) Update on Louis Carlucci

Probably redundant all things considered.

(4/5/1989) Wanted: Charles Wickman (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Charles_Wickman)

This was a tragic one. He was caught, served his time, and has probably been released and moved on. Due to the nature of the case, perhaps the family wants to be left alone. It wasn't Farinia-ized either.

(Most of the 4/12/1989 episode has been used as filler) Missing is: Wanted: Jorge Cortez (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Jorge_Cortez)

Statute of limitations? It wasn't Farina-ized either.

(4/26/1989) Wanted: Ron Rushton (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Ron_Rushton)

Probably served his time and was released.

(5/3/1989) Wanted: Murders of Julie Cross (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Julie_Cross), Wanted: The Bicycle Bandit (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Bicycle_Bandit), Wanted: Kathy Power (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Kathy_Power)

The exclusion of Julie Cross from nearly every incarnation of the series except for some very early screenings on Lifetime in the earliest days of the show has always seemed odd.

Bicycle Bandit is probably dead. He would have been released long ago anyway. It wasn't Farina-ized either.

I think Power served her time, moved on and teaches college.

(5/10/1989): Wanted: David Rhodes (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/David_Rhodes)

A lot of these parental abduction cases were probably pulled to spare the families after they were solved. There are countless examples of such custody cases vanishing after their original debut and resolution such as Aprille, Fontes, Gibson, Fagan, and perhaps others.

(5/17/1989) Wanted: Sheldon Weinberg (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Sheldon_Weinberg)

Pretty sure Sheldon Weinberg was released from prison and died. Not sure on his sons.

(9/6/1989) Missing Person: Mike Riemer (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Mike_Riemer)
(9/13/1989) Unexplained Death: Todd McAfee (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Todd_McAfee)

Summer "preview" episodes that were in limbo because they aired over the summer for the first time and were not a part of season 1 or season 2. Lifetime has shown Riemer. The McAfee segment has never materialized since it's debut outside of a posting on one of the video sites a few years ago. It has long since been removed.

Hope this helps.

I think the reason people are annoyed is the press release promised all the episodes. I questioned this - someone said of course, it says all the episodes. Well, now we know, it's not all the episodes. That's fine, it's their show, but they shouldn't have said everything was coming if they were going to hold back posting segments because of lawsuits or other reasons.

Whether it was right or wrong of them to say everything was coming is, I suppose, debatable. In the truest sense, it is a lie because they knew certain segments would never make it to streaming.

To play devil's advocate though, I'm willing to wager that the vast majority of UM viewers and folks who are perhaps now just discovering the series on Amazon are unaware of the fact that segments are missing - nor would they likely care. The only people who really know that fact and are disturbed by it are the true diehards like us who have been immersed in the show for years. The fact that certain segments would be missing is to us a no-brainer and, as you alluded to, several of us predicted this would be the case before the series went live because we knew what to expect based on the show's syndication history.

However, from an advertising/marketing point of view, it makes sense to say the series is complete. For one, this sets it apart from the now defunct DVD box sets offered by First Look. Second, imagine the ambiguity and confusion they would add if they had to add some weird tagline about the fact that some segments had been edited or were missing. I think that would confuse a lot of folks. Therefore, by saying the whole series was coming was a smart advertising moving and nothing more. Advertising has to apply to a broad base, and we diehards just ain't it.

Those are all great points, justins5256. It makes me wonder who really controls the segments now: CM, FilmRise, or someone else? We can assume some segments didn't air because of controversy or lawsuits, but maybe there are other reasons (damaged film, editing issues, etc.).

I do hope in time we will get to see them all as some of the missing ones are among my favorite segments. But if we don't, I'm still thrilled for what they have put out and I look forward to the other seasons coming out.

Diane Bickard? Do you mean Diane Brodbeck? The housewife who ran off with a convict, John Yount? Or perhaps Susan Laferte, the woman attacked in the laundry room of her apartment building resulting in her amnesia.

Both Diane Brodbeck and Susan Laferte are from the May 18, 1988 episode. Kurt McFall is from the February 5, 1988 episode. Lifetime did edit them together. (From my Daily Episode Post (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-168362.html) from 2006)

Cases include:

Amnesia: Two women are violently attacked in the laundry room of their Woonsocket, Rhode Island apartment building in 1982. One woman, Doreen Picard, is killed, the other, Susan Laferte, survives, but is stricken with amnesia and unable to remember the details of the crime. The killer is still at large. Includes update. (Aired: May 18, 1988)

I was pulling them up on Amazon yesterday and noticed that a TON of people have rated the Robert Stack season (like, 100 more people than those who have rated the Farina seasons.)

KEEP IT UP, GUYS! :)

I'm sure FilmRise plans to release them all. However, I think they would be encouraged to do so faster should they see how popular the RS seasons are... at least, that's my hope.

I'll have season two added to this guide by the end of the weekend, if not sooner. The L2 button on my PS4 controller (which I use as my remote control for Amazon Instant Video) decided to stop working yesterday and I'm going to go buy a replacement controller tonight. Thanks so for your patience, guys and gals.

Someone on The Facebook page asked about missing segments, the response was that some were removed for legal reasons and others were being moved to other season's releases. So still a chance some of the missing ones will show up.

I agree. Some of these episode titles make no sense and can actually be misleading which is why I chose not to use them. I think using the actual names of the people and including not only the order of the segments but also the time stamps where each individual segment begins and ends is the easiest way to navigate through them.

Someone asked this question on the UM Facebook Page and the reply was "hopefully just another couple weeks or less" on February 27th,
that would mean Season 3 should be released by March 14th. March 14th is a Tuesday, and Season 2 was also released on a Tuesday.

Anyway I am watching the Audrey Moate segment & noticed that the one song during that segment is different then when I watched it on Lifetime. In the Lifetime version there is just music but in the Amazon version at times there is singing.

It was pointed out in one of these threads that there is some evidence from the 90s that these were the names that were originally given to the segments internally. I don't think they would've been as silly (especially involving murders) if they were meant for the public.

My hunch: This is likely how they were referred to in-house by the writers. It's easy to forget, but there was a time when TV episode titles were never seen by the public, so they never put much thought into them--they were more for the writers and producers. Since the DVR age, writers have had to get more clever with titles to differentiate. This is why SIMPSONS episodes in the early days were very generic ("Lisa's Substitute", "Lisa Gets a Pony", etc.) and these days the episode title probably takes longer to write than some of the episode's jokes.

Why is this unacceptable? He's already one of the most heinous murderers in history. Making the top 10 most wanted isn't as pertinent as say, last seen in Italy.

Nice list. My comments are below. Please note these are my opinions, and I don't actually know the real reasons certain segment were not included in the recent release.

Hadley has since done his time and been released. Maybe they want to let him get on with his life, or he specifically asked for it not to be included.

Strangely missing from the Farina version as well. Maybe the family wants to be left alone. Even though they were interviewed in silhouette, they are easily findable.

The guy that was the Chevy Chase Bandit died semi-recently. He had served his time and been out of prison for several years. It is probably difficult to ascertain at this juncture what became of these robbers, if they were ever caught, and, if not, is anyone really still actively looking for them given the passage of time.

These guys were caught and prosecuted years later. They served their time and were released. I don't think they cooperated with authorities or explained what happened to the two women. Kind of a weird situation given that two women are still missing but maybe the fact that these guys are back in regular society is the reason this didn't make it.

The family threatened to sue, IIRC, because Janet was the product of an affair.

All since released after brief stints in prison.

I don't think it made it to the Farina episodes. Statute of limitations? The men they did apprehend did their time and were released long ago.

The former is pointless. The parties in the latter have been released.

No clue. Maybe the family assumes they were lost at sea and wants to move on. The segment had some scenario about them possibly being in South America. At the time this originally aired, it might have been considered a plausible possibility, but has been lessened with the passage of time.

No idea. It wasn't shown in the Farina episodes either. Maybe some of the scientists involved wanted their names taken off of it. Also, I think the segment is "obsolete" as we have much clearer photos of these structures then what was available back then. Just a guess.

I think the police identified the Crazy Glue Bandit but he died before he could be prosecuted. The case is officially solved, so maybe they wanted to let sleeping dogs lay. It wasn't Farina-ized either.

Alot of these rollcalls probably didn't make it for reasons I explained earlier.

The original segment was pulled, so why would we get an update?

Probably redundant all things considered.

This was a tragic one. He was caught, served his time, and has probably been released and moved on. Due to the nature of the case, perhaps the family wants to be left alone. It wasn't Farinia-ized either.

Statute of limitations? It wasn't Farina-ized either.

Probably served his time and was released.

A lot of these parental abduction cases were probably pulled to spare the families after they were solved. There are countless examples of such custody cases vanishing after their original debut and resolution such as Aprille, Fontes, Gibson, Fagan, and perhaps others.

Pretty sure Sheldon Weinberg was released from prison and died. Not sure on his sons.

Why do the criminals being released keep them from being aired? Most of the wanted segments on Prime end with an update saying they served their time and were released.

Some perspective on the UM release schedule:

32 Days = The period of time between Season 3 & Season 4 release dates.

As of May 9th it has now been 32 days since the last season was released: Season 4 on April 7th.

The longest wait for a season was Season 1: from announcement to release date = 38 days.

So Season 5 should be up sometime between tonight and Monday Night.

That's weird that it got released to the UK first, but then again that is a good sign that Season 5 should be here in the States either sometime today or Monday at the latest!!!

Finally, I've seen C.W. Roddy segment (Season 3, Episode 2) in its entirety (unless it has been edited and I've failed to notice). The same version, which would cut-off when C.W's son Darnell began speaking about her shooting, would be repeatedly uploaded to YouTube leaving me anticipating to see the rest.

When are the season 3 & 4 guides going to be added?

When are the season 3 & 4 guides going to be added?

I added them a few weeks ago, they are on this message board, just in a different thread. Towards the top of the main page you should see a thread for Amazon Season 3-4 Episode Guide.

I figured it would be easier to add them to a separate thread so fans can use them as a quick reference tool and not search all day for buried information.

[QUOTE=boechsner]Hello,

Now it's possible they could edit in segments from Season 1 in Season 2. You never know. But missing so far is:

(11/9/1988) Wanted: Bob Dozier and John Russell (http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Bob_Dozier_and_John_Russell), /QUOTE]

Respectfully snipped. Has this segnent made it onto Amazon yet? One of my all time favorites.

Thanks for any help.

Season 4 Episode 9

The segment on Sal Guardado seems longer and more detailed than I originally remember, or was it always like this?

This segment aired quite a bit on the Lifetime reruns but certain parts were cut for time. When the segment first aired on NBC it was as a summer burn off segment in 1992. All of the segments in the Filmrise Streaming Version are the original uncut NBC version with the exception of the 800 number and sometimes composites sketches are left out too, but other than that it is the original NBC broadcast version.

One thing I noticed I miss while watching these is the clips playing over the background during the end credits. The sad music playing over the tragic happenings we have seen over the past hour always gets me.

Is the Laurie Cabot segment on Prime (perhaps under another name)? That's one I haven't seen in forever.

I think it's funny that the Dave Davis case is listed in the description as "Thumbs". WTF?
That's because in the original segment at the very end it was mentioned that Davis had deformed thumbs, which for some reason was edited out of the Amazon episode.

Fun fact: even though this segment has been edited out, the end credits on this episode still list the name of the actor who portrayed Elmer Locker in the re-enactments.
I noticed the same thing with another segment as well.
