Lost was TV show about the trials and tribulations of the survivors of a PLANE CRASH discovering the mysteries surrounding the island they were on. Why did I emphasize plane crash? Because this show premiered on September 22, 2004, just 3 years and 11 days after 9/11. It must have been awkward showing promos for this show during and in the leadup to 9/11. Furthermore the 12th episode of the first season, called "Whatever the Case May Be", aired less than a fortnight after the Indian Ocean tsunami. And finally, the second season premiered less than a month after Hurricane Katrina.
