In IMDb it says that in each episode of the Beverly Hillbillies, all the cast members were in each episode ( unless I misunderstand something).

Which TV shows did the same with its cast members and which shows did not?

Jethro (Max Baer Jr.) missed two episodes near the end of season 9, though he still was credited in the opening theme. IMDB counts all episodes an actor was credited for, regardless if the actor actually made an appearance.

As for your question, Gilligan's Island comes to mind. All 7 regulars I believe appeared in at least one scene in all 98 episodes. The Honeymooners may also qualify, though it only lasted one season. I can't think of any other series which had a 100% attendance rate for all its regulars though. Over the course of many seasons it becomes extremely more likely that someone just can't make an episode, or the script just won't call for their presence.

It also depends on your definition of a regular character. If you just mean characters who get "starring" credit I'm sure there are more shows out there because there generally aren't that many starring characters in a show.

I would say Leave it to Beaver, the immediate family. There were two episodes, that I recall, when June Cleaver, was out of town, and Ward
Cleaver was out of town, but, they both made brief appearances, even then.
So, I would say "Leave it to Beaver" series had the entire cast every episode.

I'm going to guess Golden Girls had the regular cast in every episode of the series. Just because it was only the 4 actresses so it was a small cast.

I remember reading somewhere that Florence Henderson, Barry William, and one other person that I can't think of were the only three to appear in every Brady Bunch episode. And the casts changed a lot on Happy Days and Mork and Mindy, so I know the entire cast didn't appear in every episode.

I think Vivian Vance and William Frawley each missed one or two episodes of I Love Lucy. I think the entire Ropers cast appeared in every episode but that series only lasted 28 episodes.

Based on what I've seen of Petrocelli (I'm close to taking the checkered flag on that 1974-76 NBC legal series), Barry Newman, Susan Howard and Albert Salmi (the three core cast members, and the only three credited) appeared in every episode.

I was assuming the question involved shows who's entire "current" cast appeared in each episode. So while Ron Howard left HD in 79, you couldn't really say he counted as one of the cast that didn't appear in the years afterward, right?

I know that Anson Williams was considered a cast member during the final season but only appeared in maybe two episodes (he wasn't even in the finale).

I, too, was wondering if this meant current casts or overall. I'd like to list some shows as well. I just need to think of some.

The Honeymooners may also qualify, though it only lasted one season.

Joyce Randolph (Trixie Norton) missed a few episodes here and there.

Elinor Donahue missed at least one episode, and I'm pretty sure more. I remember last year I popped in a season three DVD and watched an episode that she was absent from.

Frasier, Niles, Roz, Daphne and Martin were in all 263 episodes of "Frasier".

I think in the 50's, there were quite a few westerns with only one lead character.
I'm assuming the show Steve McQueen got his start on is one. Anyway, any show with just one lead they would have to be in every episode, wouldn't they?
These shows were before my time.

The Odd Couple may be one. They only had 2 regulars. There was one episode were I don't think Felix was in it, but Tony Randall played his grandpa. Not sure if that counts.

I'd say so, and another would have to be Have Gun, Will Travel w/the late Richard Boone.

Jane Leeves (Daphne) and Peri Gilpin (Roz) missed some episodes each, so the show doesnt qualify for the list

I may be in the minority here, but I actually like it when some characters are actually absent from an episode or two, as I feel that it keeps the series fresh when you can give certain characters a break every now and then.

I believe Friends qualifies. I can't think of there being an episode where any one of the six friends are absent.

In response to a previous post, Robert Reed missed a few episodes of the Brady Bunch, most notably the final episode (you're "out of town" when your first son graduates high school?)

There were some episodes where Harris, one of the detectives (the author), was absent.

Actually 2. The other one was Lucy Plays Cupid, with Bea Benaderet playing an elderly neighbor. Neither Vivian or Bill Frawley were in that one.

Frasier, Niles, Roz, Daphne and Martin were in all 263 episodes of "Frasier".

Peri Gilpin missed one episode in season 11; A Man, A Plan and A Gal: Julia and Jane Leeves missed a handful of episodes when she left to have her daughter. Daphne was sent off to a fat spa and came back skinny again. The rest of the cast was in every episode.

All the main cast members of Friends appeared in every episode.

Those were probably the best episodes.

The rest of the regulars would get offended when this was brought up, but many if not most big Honeymooners fans consider her unworthy of being part of that incredible cast.

Never thought about it much, but The Honeymooners could really have done w/o her. She could have been upstairs all the time, while Norton was sleepwalking or teaching Ralph how to play golf (Hello, ball.) Or they could have made Alice's mother a regular. She garnered more laughs.

Trixie was easily the least memorable character on the show, which is why I always felt sorry for Joyce Randolph. I don't think it was necessarily her fault; she just never had significant screen time. At 92 she is the only one of the main four still alive.

On MASH, particularly the early seasons, Frank Burns & "Hot Lips" Houlihan are often absent (though in the credits).
Neither are in the Adam's Rib episode and another one where Hawkeye & Trapper leave camp to get something.

Klinger, Mulcahy and some of the other semi-regulars (in the early seasons) aren't in all episodes either.

Oddly, in the later seasons, all major cast members (Hawkeye, BJ, Potter, Houlihan, Winchester) are in most of the episodes.

Radar is often absent.

Gary Burghoff got lazy and didn't want to work as many hours as the show required. So the writers used Klinger as the company cluck more often.
Odd how a corporal got so much R&R in Tokyo...

I know it's a drama, but Law & Order, the original series, would count.
While the cast changed with almost every season, the main characters, the 2 detectives which dominated the first half of the hour and their precinct captain, and the assistant DA and his female (mostly) assistant, plus the DA, always appeared in each episode.

Maybe DA Adam Schiff didn't appear in the ep. ("Aftershock"?) where the cast felt horrible after the assistant to the assistant DA (Jill Hennessey) died in a car accident.... but the actors appeared in most.
