At this point, it has been close to seven months since I posted a different thread about the same topic that I am going to be writing about in a minute. However, one event of significance that has happened during this time period is that our friend Hazel Shermet has died. Shortly after she died, I started a thread titled "Goodbye Dear Hazel". This is one of a rather small minority of threads started by me that managed to generate some responses. However, my thread titled "A Well Thought-Out Reply" generated a bunch of views by no replies. If anyone is interested, that thread is now slightly more than halfway down this page. This thread had to do with an interaction that I had with a female poster whom I used to correspond with quite a bit. According to her, Hazel Shermet is someone who tended to play slapstick. At least on this show. My female friend and I also corresponded quite a bit about the morals and ethics that were presented in various episodes. She knew all about how the "Emergency" was the first episode that I ever saw and how I fell in love with the "your purse, your purse" line! I posed the question about whether she thinks that for Hazel Shermet's character to have to go charging after her purse served her right for hogging the pay phone, referring to Nell as some pushy woman and making herself out to be so hotsy totsy. My friend's response really impressed me. She wrote back by saying "yes. I think that for Hazel Shermet's character to have to chase down her purse after Nell placed it on a gurney poll served her right for carrying on a meaningless conversation with her friend when Nell had to make an emergency call home. I was very impressed to get a reply that was this well thought-out. If I were advanced enough to take an official poll on this topic, I would do so. However, because I am not, I am asking for feedback this way. Because my last thread about this topic did not get any replies, I have decided to give it a second chance this time around.
