Tim Allen (https://lebeauleblog.com/2015/05/21/what-the-hell-happened-to-tim-allen/)’s success on the standup circuit led to him starring on the long-running sitcom Home Improvement, which gave him nationwide fame and led to eventually star as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Disney’s beloved Toy Story movies. This, and the success of another Disney franchise, The Santa Clause, seemed to signal that Allen’s meteoric career would never stop ascending. Since appearing in the 2007 ensemble comedy Wild Hogs, however, he’s rarely been seen on the big screen. What happened to the convict-turned-comedian-turned-movie star? Here are some of the reasons why Hollywood won’t cast Tim Allen in movies anymore.

He's been starring in Last Man Standing the last 6 years.

I'm amazed at how some people can fall for this gossip crap.

I'm not a fan of Last Man Standing. However, I do enjoy Home Improvement and a few of his movies. I try not to mix an actor's life with the work they do...heck, if we did that then nobody would watch any actor.

The fact that Tim Allen is still working and is back on television w/ a show isn't the point of that article. The point is why isn't he still headlining major motion pictures anymore like The Santa Clause, Galaxy Quest, and Wild Hogs.

Um, Tim Allen, being an ex-convict is (to say the least) true, not gossip. Now, maybe that article took a cheap shot at bringing up his unsavory past, but another way to look at it, is that Tim Allen should be looked at as a real life American success story:

Allen graduated from high school with a love for the arts (specifically classical piano), and went on the graduate from Western Michigan University. His career in show business began on a comedy club dare from friends. His first stand-up gig proved successful so he pursued comedy and gained enough local recognition to make the move to LA.

Before that, however, a wrench was thrown into Allen’s plans. He was arrested at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport for cocaine possession, 1.43 pounds of it. Meaning he was dealing. With a possible life sentence looming, Allen pleaded guilty, and ratted on some fellow dealers in exchange for a mere three-year sentence. It makes for one of the more surreal celebrity footnotes.

Newly released from Sandstone Federal Correctional Institution, Allen became a standup staple in the Los Angeles area, and steam was gathered for a television pilot. It was in vogue at the time for a network to commission an entire show based solely on a comedian’s standup material, to simply take what was there, and broadcast it.

But he will return to the movies sometime in 2019 and he will voice buzz light year again in toy story 4.

I think you have a couple of movies that are duds and Hollywood kinda backs off for a few years so the stank isn't so fresh in people's minds anymore - no matter who the actor is.

I'm not a big fan of his type of comedy, but I'm sure he'll do movies again - assuming that he wants to and gets offered roles that appeal to him.

His current sitcom only needs two more seasons in order to go as long as his previous sitcom went. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!! :) :) :)

Tim Allen has been successful both on television and in movies. Childhood was not easy for Tim, though, as he suffered tragedy early on at age 11. This propelled him to eventually get involved with criminal activity. The legal battle that followed was ugly. These traumas did not stop Allen from becoming a stand-up comedian; starting in Detroit, he came up with a famous routine and an unconventional catchphrase that got the attention of studio executives. Casting Allen as a TV father on Home Improvement ended up being one of the best moves the executives made, which propelled Allen to fame and profits to rise.

Drama ensued not only on screen, but also between Allen and certain cast members of Home Improvement. The show was used to promote Michigan in a unique way, as Allen is a huge fan of the state where he spent his formative years. Along with that, he worked with the government as well to promote Michigan in a special way. It’s clear how he feels about Michigan sports when you see his Halloween costume from a few years back.

The big screen also has been a boon for Allen, where his box office hits made an exorbitant amount of money. However, his success has affected his relationships. Allen has a couple of daughters- from two different marriages. Off-set, Allen practices an expensive and dangerous hobby. This hobby is available to those with unbelievably high net worth, like Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld.

Allen has made headlines for his conservative political stances. He has attended events of various conservative politicians and even dedicated his voice to one candidate. Recently, his sometimes edgy show Last Man Standing was canceled, causing an uproar amongst dedicated fans. What did Allen have to say about the controversial cancellation?

Oh, come on, let him return to movies right now in order to make him return where he left off before.
