Don't include anything you'd never watch again, like something someone gave you but you don't like or something you bought only because it was included in a collection with another thing you actually wanted, or something you tried but just thought was terrible.

I used to have a big collection of movies and TV shows. I decided to watch everything once through before repeating anything. It took about nine months and I realized that it was just too much to watch on a regular basis, so I got rid of a lot of stuff. Thinking back, it was probably about 1500 hours of material.

Now I'm down to about 250 hours. About a third of that is the Seinfeld series, a third other TV shows, and a third movies. It would probably take two months to go through it if I watched everything without repeating.

Honestly, I have no clue. It would all depend on how much I watch each day. As it's going now, it could take several years.

It would take a long time. And this month I'm going to be adding both The Love Boat, Season 3, and Hooperman to my collection. I'm happy! :)

Wow, good question! We own several whole series DVDs (Andy Griffith, Bewitched, The Munsters, The Honeymooners, etc.) and some we are collecting episode by episode (like That Girl, Blue Bloods and Mr. Ed). That doesn't take into account our movie collection (mostly, but not exclusively, classics like Casablanca and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington). I tell myself I'll get to enjoy them more after I retire. But there are occasions when I can find nothing to watch on our hundreds :confused: of FIOS channels and I catch up again with Barney, Wilbur or the Beav. That is Comfort TV for me.

I can't give you a direct answer, but my guess would be over 1,000 hours of television

My answer is better off being simplified like this- A bit over 10 years ago I made a list of all the shows I wanted to watch completely through. Most of that list was multi cam sitcoms since that's my favorite format of TV show. Over 10 years and probably at least a few thousand dollars later I've finally watched through most of what I wanted to. In my personal collection I just have:

Multi cams:
Friends
From season 2 until the end of Frasiet
Roseanne-though I don't know how far through I'm gonna stick that one pit
Wings
How I met your Mother

The multi cams I can probably finish by the end of the summer..hopefully.

Hour long scifi/drama:
Heroes
2nd half of Battlestar Galactica
Rome
1 season of Friday Night Lights so I can see if I want to go all the way through it
Smallville
Stargate SG-1
Some of SNL.

It's the hour long stuff I'm afraid of how long all that will take to watch through. I think as of right now I'll probably try to juggle a few of those at a time when I get to them it may be faster that way.

It would take a long time, 84 shows in all. I'm thinking it would take about 20 years lol

I store my DVD/BD' in those jumbo wallet cases of which I have 4 at the moment with movies/TV shows that I've only seen a few times.

Since I mostly have old cartoon series on DVD I tend to watch maybe 2-3 episodes a day but yeah I have a lot to go through.

OMG probably a few years of viewing @ 10-12 hrs a day
