Wonderful news! I've been waiting more than three years for Shout! Factory to release the last four seasons of "Strokes"! I better start saving up my pennies...I definitely want to purchase this! Hopefully, by year's end (God willing), all eight seasons will finally be available on DVD!

And perhaps Shout! Factory can release a complete series DVD box set next year to coincide with "Strokes'" fortieth anniversary, including new interviews with the surviving cast members (Todd Bridges, Charlotte Rae, Shavar Ross, Mary Jo Catlett, Danny Cooksey, and Janet Jackson) and crew (such as director Gerren Keith, who directed the bulk--more than one hundred episodes--of "Strokes'" eight-season run) a series retrospective (once again, featuring the surviving cast and crew), audio commentaries, a gag reel, original network promos, rehearsal footage, deleted scenes, the three "Strokes"/"Hello, Larry" crossover episodes, and--here's the icing on the cake, folks--the original unaired pilot, "45 Minutes From Harlem"! Wouldn't that be swell?

Finally am so happy I have season 5-8 DVR from Encore but to have season 5 finally come out on dvd :) I hope the episodes are all uncut and we get season 6-8 fast because this series has taken so long to finish up I knew Shout would come thru I have been bugging them for so long to get the rest of the series out but they said Sony wouldn't give them the rights they will keep trying well it payed off great news

You and me both, tlc38tlc38. I was hoping and praying Shout! Factory would release a complete series DVD box set of "Strokes," but I'll follow your advice and take what I can get. Hopefully by year's end, the entire run will finally be available on DVD. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully Seasons 6, 7, & 8 won't be far behind!
