I realize that posts can be edited at any time, but 15 minutes is all you have to avoid seeing the Edited by message at the bottom. 30 minutes would suffice.

View Full Version : Can the time for editing posts be expanded beyond 15 minutes? Zoneboy 12-28-2016, 10:13 PM I realize that posts can be edited at any time, but 15 minutes is all you have to avoid seeing the Edited by message at the bottom. 30 minutes would suffice. DJM77 12-29-2016, 12:02 PM I've never understood why the edited by message at the bottom is necessary to begin with. I agree!;) PhoenixAcres 12-29-2016, 01:18 PM It's like the timestamp at the top of every post. If you go back and edit something a substantial amount of time later, the timestamp you see is actually false since the content wasn't written at that time anymore. So they have to make a note at the bottom when the post was last updated. PhoenixAcres 12-29-2016, 01:21 PM A 30-minute grace period seems logical to me. I wouldn't mind if they changed it. Janice 12-30-2016, 01:48 AM I once asked for extra time as well. It used to be just one minute to edit. It's hard to believe this was 13 years ago. Crazy, time just flies. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=54902&highlight=edit TJ 07-10-2017, 04:46 PM It was changed to 30 minutes some months ago. I think it's helpful to know if an older post has been updated. |
