I remember reading on a post here years ago that a couple who were reunited with their long-lost daughter (I'm almost positive it was John Elias and Eleanor Platt since the poster described them as an "interracial couple" and John and Eleanor were the only such couple on a lost love segment looking for a child) but ended up disowning her because they didn't approve of her lifestyle.
I have searched and searched for that post hoping I could find more details and have come up empty-handed. Does anyone have any more info? Was it John and Eleanor? What "lifestyle" did they object to? Either way, it sounds like a very tragic end to what looked like a heartwarming reunion after 40-plus years.

I'm waiting for 1990's UM Fan to chime in on this one. Someone else on the boards proclaimed them the "king of Lost Love stories" and I tend to agree... :)

I've never heard anything about this, but this was always one of my favorite lost loves cases, so I certainly hope it's not true, especially after all the hell that couple had to endure in their younger years. I do know that John Elias died in 2011. I'm not sure whether or not Eleanor is still alive.

I just watched this. Disowned? Like...was she a lesbian? She looked married to me (although could be bisexual)

This segment doesn't ring a bell. Can someone please give me the background/circumstance for this? Thanks.
