What episode of ILL should be colorized next in your opinion, LittleRickyII?
Thanks for asking. My answer is going to be the episode that I thought was going to be colorized this time around. There are obviously many wonderful episodes in the series that would be fun to see colorized, but my thinking about the best episodes to colorize are ones that not only are exceptionally funny and entertaining, but also have some certain characteristic -- whether it be wardrobe or background -- where colorization would truly set it apart and catch your attention. Episodes like the one that just aired, "Lucy Gets in Pictures," and "Lucy's Italian Movie" fit that bill. With "Lucy Gets in Pictures" we finally get to see in color what are supposed to be the colorful costumes and headdresses of all the women descending the stairs. In "Lucy's Italian Movie" we got to see that purple mess of grape stains all over Lucy's face and clothes. These are the kinds of things that really pop once they're put in color. So my pick would be "The Operetta." Not only is it funny, but it also has those catchy, quirky tunes. And as for color, imagine the cartoonish background scenery of the stage play all lit up in color. And Lucy's frazzled "Queen of the Gypsies" hair, Ethel's long blond "Lily of the Valley" hair, and all those period costumes. We'll see if that happens, but it's the one episode where I think seeing it in color will make you go, Wow! What is your pick, Anna?

First of all I want to steal your pick! Because I love that episode and love to sing "I am Lily of the Valley" at family gatherings, LOL. (I really belt it out ala Sophie Tucker at the end) ;)
I know it is considered to be a lesser episode but Little Ricky's school play might be interesting in color. "Ethel's Hometown"and "Ethel's Birthday" are personal favorites but then again I am a huge Ethel freak. "I have sufficient".
How about Lucy Raises Chickens or Lucy and The Loving Cup? Or Lucy dancing the Jitterbug?
You just can't go wrong with Lucy. :)
I will think of more later.
Incidentally I saw that interview you posted with Lucy and Elizabeth Ashley, David Mamet and others and found it really interesting. I meant to post about it but got sidetracked. Lucy was really insightful and more than held her own about a lot of topics. Great find!

Bonniegirl 12-11-2016, 02:02 AM I really think the ep. where Lucy does her own perm and makes her own dress would be a perfect one to colorize! :)

And the one where Lucy feels Ricky misses Cuba! :) Her dressed like Carmen Miranda and all the stuff in the living room would be really cool colorized! ;)

I forgot to add that with the Lucy gives herself a home perm pic, she really did invent the term "bad hair day" didn't she?

I think "Loving Cup" and "Ethel's Hometown" would be a great choice for color, and I like Bonnie's suggestion of "Lucy Wants New Furniture." Lots of great choices, but I would hope they stay out of the first season episodes, though, because many of those are awkward. They didn't really get fully on their feet until the second season. Much of S1 is very far fetched and probably would not appeal to a younger/newer audience, which is what they are wanting to attract. When the show moved into the second season, it seemed a creative spark had been lit. It was suddenly a very different show, which believable plots.

Even Miss Ball said that the first season was very "primitive" production wise despite a few genuine classics like the already colorized "Lucy Does a TV Commercial".
I still would like to see The Freezer in color though. That is one my all time favorites, Unplug me! Unplug me!/Tell ya what I'm gonna do! :)

I'm really glad I read this comment, because I thought I was the only one who thought the first season left a lot to be desired (with the exception of a couple of classics like Vitametavegamin and the Freezer). That being said, back to the topic: What about colorizing Lucy and the helicopter, when she misses the boat? Lots of on-location scenery in that one.
CBS is reairing it Xmas night 8pm EST
OH Nuts! 12-22-2016, 08:44 AM How can you go wrong with Lucy. Answer: YOU CAN'T!!! Still going strong and a force to be reckoned with over 60 years down the pike. A TRUE CLASSIC. Love love love ILL, and Miss Ball in general.
Ron Ron 12-22-2016, 08:00 PM It will be rebroadcast on Christmas Night!!
