It's with deep sadness that we must report the passing of our band brother, bassist and back up vocal,David Dickey, early this morning. David will always be a part of the America legacy and his contributions musically and personally will never be forgotten...he was one-of-a-kind and may he forever rest in peace. Our condolences go out to his beloved wife Maggie and his entire family. Our love always....from the America family.

SWEETWATER, Texas - Sweetwater resident David Dickey, the former bassist of the band ‘America,’ passed away Saturday morning.
The classic-rock band took to their Facebook page to express their condolences.
“It's with deep sadness that we must report the passing of our band brother, David Dickey, early this morning. David will always be a part of the America legacy and his contributions musically and personally will never be forgotten...he was one-of-a-kind and may he forever rest in peace. Our condolences go out to his beloved wife Maggie and his entire family. Our love always....from the America family.”
‘America’ is best known for their songs, “Sister Golden Hair,” and “A Horse With No Name.”

In the center picture he looks very thin and frail. Maybe cancer? RIP David :(
