I know that this is a Chinese-American Dish made by Peng Chang-Kuei, but his dish became a hit in many Chinese-American Restaurants.
I know many Chinese dishes in the USA aren't REAL Chinese Food, like General Tso's Chicken, but remember...when most Chinese came to the USA all they could afford was maybe rice. It's like when the Italians came to the USA, all they could afford was pasta with a little cheese and/or tomatoes.
