Hey guys,
On November 17th, blowing out 50 candles is none other than....
Television/Cable Emcee Daisy Fuentes
Born in Havana, Cuba and standing 5'10" Daisy Fuentes is an Actress, Model, Former VJ, TV/Cable Emcee and Revlon's first Latina spokesperson to be signed to a worldwide contract
One of the most recognized faces of the 90's, as an actress, Daisy Guest Starred on an episode of The Ghostwriter for Public Television's PBS as Galaxy Girl and starred in the TNT Original Film Shutterspeed w/Steve Borden Better known as The Icon STING Produced by Eric Bischoff & Jason Hervey of The Wonder Years Fame and the film was taped in Vancouver, BC Canada
But she is perhaps best known as a VJ for MTV as she broke barriers as the network's first Latina VJ (signed to MTV and MTV Latin America simultaneously) and from January 1998-May 1999, she teamed up with Former VH1 VJ John Fugelsang as the host of America's Funniest Home Videos and they also introduced the segment called The Bad News/Good News Segments
Daisy & John replaced the original host Bob Saget and their version of AFV was the only version that never aired on its Traditional Sunday Night Time Slot on abc
In January of '98, it became a mid-season replacement for abc's Monday Night Football and during the 98/99 Season, the show moved to Saturday Night, but in the Spring of '99, their version moved to Thursday Nights competing against NBC's Thursday Night Juggernaut and Prime Time's #1 Sitcom Friends and as a result, the ratings suffered during this period and both Fuentes and Fugelsang left the show after two seasons in 1999
Their last episode – which aired on May 6 of that year – was taped at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA
During their time on AFV, Daisy & John appeared as Hosts in Las Vegas for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve '98
