Here's a fanfic Emma and I are writing...

Nate: *Walks into Anchorside after a long day at work*
Kate:*is sitting at the bar,having a drink*
Nate: *Sits next to Kate*
Kate: *sees Nate* Oh,hey Nate *She slurrs,slightly tipsy*
Nate: Oh hi captain.
Kate:it's goin' good *yells at bartender* Hey whats a girl gotta do to get some attention!? flash!?*tugges on her shirt collars*
Nate: Woah captain...*puts his hand on her shoulder* You okay?...You seem a little...different tonight.
Kate:I'm fine,I'm fine,The night isa young and I feel gooood!*sly grin*
Nate: *Laughs* Alright then.
Kate: Can I buy ya a drink?*pats his knee*
Nate: Sure, I've never turned down a free drink before. *Grins*
Kate:well don't start now! *laughs* Hey,Shawn! Come here!
Nate: *Laughs*
Kate: sooo,what'll ya have?
Nate: Whatever you're having.
Kate: okey dokey, 2 Shirley Temples. *Yells as Shawn start too walk off* And make mine a double!
Nate: You're that drunk off a Shirley Temple?
Kate: huh? oh no this is my 5th. *says as an after thought* And I'm not drunk! tipsy maybe,but not drunk!
Nate: Oh I see...Well I'd like to see you when you're drunk. *Laughs*
Kate: stick around,you just may*laughs a little too loud*
Nate: *Laughs* Well I'll be around a while...I'd go home but my Uncle is staying with me and he's pretty rowdy...I'll probably just hang around here and sleep in my car.
Bartender: *Holds up the phone* Call for Kate McCafferty.
Kate: Over here!*sticks hand in the air*
Bartender: *Hands her the phone*
Kate: Hello?
Hospital: Mrs. McCafferty...I'm a nurse at St. Lukes hospital. We have your daughter here...she was in a car accident.

Kate:*walks up to the front desk of the hospital,with the help of Nate* Amana Mc *hick ups,nurse looks at her funny*excuse me,McCafferty
Nurse:213,it's the fisrt room on the right*points down the hall*
Kate:Thank you.
Nate:You want me to come with you?
Kate:*tries walking on her own* I think I can manage* stumbles her way to Amanda's room*
Kate:Amanda?*doesn't get an answer* Amanda?
Nurse:*walks in,and startles Kate* Oh,I didn't mean to startle you.
Kate:It's ok*holds onto wall for support*How is she?
Nurse:Are you Mrs. McCafferty?
Kate:Yes *hick ups* excuse me.
Nurse:Well,she may have considerable brain damage,she's in a coma right now,she might not make it *notices Kate isn't exactly sober* Maybe it would be best if wait and do this tomarrow.
Kate:Excuse me?
Nurse:maybe you should go home and sober up,before you try to deal with all of this.
Kate:*realizes there's no hiding it* Maybe you're right *hick ups*
Nurse: is there anything I can do for you?
Kate:*hick ups again* You can tell me how to get rid of these damn hick ups.
Nurse:I'll get you a glass of water.
Kate:thanx
Nurse:*brings he rthe water* here ya go.
Kate:thanx*drinks it really fast*
Nate:*walks in* is everything ok?
Kate:Stumbles over to him* can you give me a ride home?*hand glass to the nurse*
Nate: Sure.
Kate:Thanx*hold onto him for support.*
~In the Car~
Kate: *sitting there looking out the window,suddenly starts crying*
Nate: So how is Amanda?
Kate:The nurse said,she may have brain damage,and she might die*sobs*
Nate: I'm so sorry...I hope they're wrong.
Kate: me too
Nate: *Parks outside her house*
Kate:well,we're here,thanx for the ride*tries to get out,falls back in*
Nate: Need any help getting inside?
Kate:nah,I can manage*tries to get out again,falls in a gain*
Nate: I'll help you. *Gets out*
Kate:thanx* reaches for his hands*
Nate:*Takes her hands andpulls her out of the car*
Kate: *can't get the key in the keyhole of her front door,for lack of coordination* go in there damn it
Nate: *Takes the key and unlocks the door* There ya go.
Kate: thanx*turns to face him,just kinda stares at him*
Kate McCafferty (3:59:31 PM): Nate: Why are you staring?
Trophygirl15 (4:00:01 PM): Kate:*doesn't say anything,kisses him*
Nate: *Kisses Kate* Well I guess I'd better go...unless you want me to come inside.
Kate: *sly grin* I want you to come inside.

Kate: *wakes up to find Nate laying with is arms around her,his head on her bare chest;-)* Oh...my...god!
Nate:What?*Wakes up,looks where his head is and screams* WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!?!
Kate: WHY ARE YO HERE!?!? *Kate screams back,and pulls the covers over her*
Kate McCafferty [9:25 PM]: Nate: *Flies backwards* Why are YOU here?!
Trophygirl15 [9:26 PM]: Kate:THIS IS MY HOUSE!! *sits up*
Nate:YOU KIDNAPPED ME!
Kate: That makes absolutely no sense what so ever! *puts hand on head* can we stop yelling,my head is pounding??
Nate: *Remembers what happened* Oh no...I know why I'm here.
Kate: Why?? * face turns green* Hold that thought!
*rushes to the bathroom*
Nate: *Ignores her* Oh god I saw my captain naked...*Calls* Do you have the classifieds?
Kate: *comes back from the bathroom* I heard that!
put down the phone now! *grabs house coat and puts it on* I have a feeling you did more then just see me naked.
Nate: *Grabs a blanket and wraps it around himself* I'm sorry.
Kate: You weren't drunk last nite were you?
Nate: *Shakes his head* No..I wasn't.
Kate:How could you!? I thought you were a better man then that! *finds,and throws holds pants at him* get out!
*point's toward her bedroom door*
Nate: It wasn't just....you know what...nevermind.*Puts on his pants and leaves*
Kate: Oh god,what was I thinking?! *she then remembers
about Amanda,and starts to cry*

~At the Office~
Nate: *Walks into the office, half asleep*
Jinny:You look like you had a long night.
Nate: Not really...*yawns*
Raina:Then,how come you're so sleepy?
Nate:I was...reading.
Jinny: *disbelieving* ooohhh
CD: Reading makes you sleepy?
Nate: Well I was reading and I couldn't put the *yawn* book down.
Jinny:uh-huh,...come on nate,what were you really doing last night?
Nate:I'm telling you the truth. I need coffee. *Gets up*
Jinny: yeah,okay*rolls her eyes,and goes back to work*
Magda: Has anyone seen the captain?
Raina:I haven't.
Jinny:Don't look at me.
Nate: *Picks up the pot of coffee and pours it into a cup, then drinks out of the pot*
CD: You sure you're okay?
Magda: Something strange is going on around here.
Jinny:*trying not to laugh*Nate,you do realize,that just drank out of the pot,..right
Nate: I was wondering why the cup was so heavy.
Magda: Well I'm gonna bring my own coffee...I don't know where that pots been anymore.
Jinny & Raina: *laugh*

Nate: *Sits at his desk and falls out of his chair*
CD: Maybe you should go home and take a nap.
Magda: It's not like we have any cases.
Jinny:*Laughing her ass off* Are you SURE,nothing's up?
Nate: You talking to me?

Raina:*laughing so hard she's crying* I'd sure love to see you,the mornig after a stake out.
Nate: Steak?
CD: STAKE OUT! S-T-A-K-E you idiot.
Nate: NO need to be crabby.
Jinny:Good god,what is wrong with you!?
Nate: Nothing. *Yawns*
Raina:so far today,you've drank from the coffee pot,nearly fell asleep mid-sentance,and fallin out of your chair,and nothings wron?*raises her eyebrow*
Nate: Don't act like you've never drank from a coffee pot before.
Raina:I can't honestly say that I haven't *looks at him like he's nuts*
Kate:Morning *rushes into her office,ignorses Nate*
Magda: I didn't know anyone could walk that fast.
Jinny:Apperently,she can *points toward Kate's office*
Magda: I think everyone has lost their minds.
CD:*Nods*
Jinny:well I coulda told ya that,years ago.
Nate: You haven't even known me for years!
Jinny:I can garuntee that anybody working under her authority*points to Kate's office* either is,or will be soon.*laughs*
Nate:What is that supposed to mean?!
Jinny: Nothing! geez Nate,I was just kidding,what is your problem??
Nate: You're the one with the problem...can't you just leave her alone?
CD: *Backs away from Nate*
Jinny: Why? she jokes like that about me,don't take eachother seriously
Nate: *Glares at her*
Raina:why are you so defensive all of a sudden??
Nate: I'm not!
Magda: Whatever you say. *Rolls her eyes*
Jinny: *raises an eyebrow* is she the one you slept with last night?*smirks*
CD: Woah didn't want that image.
Nate: I did not sleep with the captain...sorry to disapoint you.
Jinny:I was just joking,Nate *looks at him suspiciously* who did you sleep with last night?
Nate: No one Jinny would you just shut up?!
Jinny;Geez! Take some prozac will ya!?! for our sake!
Nate: Do you know when to stop?! *Leaves*
Raina:What is his problem!?! *looks at CD*
CD: Well Jinny has been pressuring him and he obviously didn't want to talk about what was bothering him.
Magda: It's Nate's cheerleader.
Jinny: I wasn't pressuring nothing,He's the one that got all phsyco!
CD: *Rolls her eyes*
Magda: Maybe the captain knows what's going on with him?
Raina:what would make you think that?
Magda: It was just an idea.
Jinny:*gives Magda a questioning look* what kind of crazy conclusions are you jumping to this time?
Magda: God Jinny what's your problem today? I was just saying maybe whatever is wrong with him maybe it's related to work and we could talk to the captain about it.
Jinny: I'm sorry,I just.......John Jr.'s being a jackass.
Magda: Aww what's going on?

~Meanwhile~
Nate: *Knocks on Kate's door*
Kate:Come in
Nate: *Walks in*
Kate: what do you want? *avoids eye contact*
Nate: We need to talk about last night.
Kate: *sarcastic*You took advantage of me last night. Now,what could there possibly be to talk about?
Nate: I can completely understand why you'd think that but...
Kate: But what Nate what?
Nate: I've liked you ever since the first time I saw you. What happened last night was something I've wanted for a long time and it meant more to me then just a one night stand.
Kate: *totally shocked* What?
Nate: And the reason I didn't tell you before...you're my boss. I just couldn't. Then last night it just, happened but I shouldn't have done that. Not when you were like that. I can understand if you absolutely hate me now...I can find another job.
Kate: I..I don't hate you...I'm shocked
Nate: *Nods*
Kate:I...I had no Idea...
Nate: Well I didn't run around telling people I was in love with my boss.
Kate: in LOVE? *She couldn't believe what she was hearing,it was often one of her inspectors walked into her office,and told her he loved her.*
Nate: Oh god I did not just say that.
Kate: *grinned* yeah,ya did.
Nate: Well...
Kate: I......*gets cut off when the phone rings*
Nate: *Sits across from her*
Hospital: Kate McCafferty?
Kate: Yes,this is she.
Hospital: This is a nurse from St. Luke's hospital...I'm sorry to have to tell you this but your daughter died this morning.
Kate:What?!?*almost drops the phone*
Hospital: I'm sorry.
Kate:She's dead?? there's got to be some mistake!! She CAN'T be dead!
Nate: *Jumps up*
Hospital: We did everything we could.
Kate: Thank you for notifying me. *hangs up the phone,misses the cradle*
Nate: *Goes over to Kate* I'm so sorry.
Kate: *starts crying *
Nate: *Hugs her*

~At the Hospital~
Kate: * the closer they got to Amanda's body,the tighter her grip on Nate's hand got* I can't do this,I don't wanna do this! I don't wanna see my daughter's cold,lifeless body.
Nate: Is there anywayaround it?
Kate: No,but..
Nate: But what?
Kate: I don't know *sighs*
Nate: We should get it over with...I'm sorry you have to do this.
Kate: me too.
Nate: Well...
Coroner dude: Are you ready?
Kate:*hesitates* Yes
Nate: *Nods*
Coroner dude: *pulls the sheet back* is this Amanda McCafferty?
Kate: Oh god!!* turns away,hides her face in Nate's chest*
Coroner dude: Can I take that as a yes?
Nate: *Hugs Kate* Yeah...that's her.
Coroner dude: okay,then, We just need you and your husband *points to Nate* to sign some papers,and then we can release her to th funeral home you choose.
Kate: Oh,no we're not married
Nate: I'm just a...friend.
Coroner dude: Oh,I'm sorry
Kate': Oh,it's alright
Nate: You ready to go?
Kate: Hell,yes! *starts to walk off*
Nate: *Follows*
