Our sad story today is that of Dana Plato (1964-1999). For years, America knew her as Kimberly Drummond on the hit series Diff’rent Strokes. But after the show ended, she had a variety of career and personal struggles that culminated in her dying of a overdose of prescription medications in 1999.

This clip of her singing is heartbreaking.
She had so much unrealized potential.

The story of Dana and her son breaks my heart. Gone Too Soon!
The story of Dana and her son breaks my heart. Gone Too Soon!
If you read into her bio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_Plato), her life was a string of hardships and disappointments from the very beginning. Dana was born to an unwed teen and given up for adoption, offered the iconic Reagan role (Linda Blair's part) in The Exorcist but forced to turn it down (http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/obituary-dana-plato-1095957.html) by a downright religious of a nut mother, written out of her most successful role after getting knocked up, resorted to softcore porn and robbery, and then killed herself shortly after a Howard Stern interview where she was insulted by callers. And then years later, her son also kills himself.
