I saw the episode and to me Danny learned his lesson that to quote Bob Barker on his most successful game show before The Price is Right "If you don't tell the truth, you have to pay the consequences." It's important to be accurate and honest in reporting but if you lie, you can get yourself in trouble.

I used to be able to access that complete episode on You Tube but the link has been "discontinued."
It is one of the best episodes of the series ever even though it was broadcast during the time that the Partridge Family had already Jumped-The-Shark and was on its way to being cancelled.
