Both were of course family-friendly sitcoms that aired on Friday nights on ABC during the '80s. More to the point, like Full House, Webster for better or worse, lived and died (so to speak) on showcasing a bunch of gentle, otherwise saccharine humor and simple morals at the end of the episodes. Joel Zwick was even a regular director on both shows.
