"American Housewife" Nabs Full-Season Order at ABC

ABC has given a Back 9 order to new comedy series "American Housewife", bringing its freshman run to a full-season 22 episodes. The pickup comes after four airings of the single-camera comedy, from ABC Studios and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
"American Housewife" has been a breakout for ABC. Launching without the protection of the network’s established Wednesday comedy block, it has ranked as the highest-rated ABC program on Tuesday night from the start, regularly building onto its lead-in, veteran "The Middle", by 14% on average.
Overall, "American Housewife" has ranked as Tuesday’s No. 1 comedy this season in Total Viewers (7.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4). It is improving its 8:30 PM time period year-to-year by 2.1 million viewers and by +9% in Adults 18-49.
