One thing that I am finding very surprising is how little recognition the death of actress Hazel Shermet is getting. For those of you who might not know, in addition to making two guest appearances on this show, she made three appearances on "Gimme a Break!". One thing that I learned a while back that really surprised me is that she was already in her sixties by the time that she appeared on either show. I thought she looked great for a woman that age! Less than a week ago, I was over on another page that has a "Facts of Life" page. This site also has a "Gimme a Break!" page. Somebody posted a messages on both pages saying that she had died at age 96. So far, nobody has replied to either of these posts. Unfortunately, I am not advanced enough to go through the red tape to post messages on that site. Over on the "Gimme a Break!" page of this site, I started a thread telling my buddies there about what I had read. This managed to generate a few replies, but then it died down. After I submit this, I plan on heading over there to tell the people there about this post. In closing, I would just like to say that I hope that sweet, little Hazel is resting in peace!

I posted before ,but again my prayers are with Hazel! I am sure she is with the Lord in Heaven now and in eternal peace!;)

Yesterday evening, I watched on hour of "Facts of Life" on Familynet. One of the episodes that came on was the second season episode called "Shoplifting". This is the first of two episodes that our friend Hazel appeared in. I thought that she looked like hot stuff! Earlier in this sitting, I added to my thread on the "Gimme a Break!" page called "Goodbye Dear Hazel". I mentioned seeing this episode in this addition. After submitting that post, I started a new thread on that page and called it "Yeast Infection". You would have to read the post to understand the context of the title. In any event, now here I am on this page telling you guys about my whole situation!

I like to think of Hazel's two FOL appearances as both being Ms. Downs; she is an Eastland faculty member who works part-time at Harrison's Department Store as a second job for some extra income. :-)

She is also referenced by Natalie in season 5, as having to deal with her at school.
