June 23rd, 1984. It was a Saturday and also Midsummer's Day. And every time my birthday is on a Friday or a Saturday, it will automatically coincide with Midsummer (which happens to be a big holiday here in Sweden). So yeah...

Unless when I get a "my throat is so swollen that I throw up and can hardly even drink for two days" cold just in time for my birthday, which happened to me this year. And it also ruined everything about the Midsummer holiday for me and my mother, of course. :( Oh well, I hope I get better luck next year. And I don't wanna think about it anyway.

It is very convenient though to have a birthday in June. It is on the exact opposite time of the year from Christmas, which makes it really lovely to get lots of gifts again. When I was a kid, I liked that school was always out for the summer when my birthday came... The weather is almost always nice (except for in 2011, when it happened to rain buckets). And yeah, there is the cool Midsummer connection.

The problem is that I already feel that way. Birthdays can be fun, but I don't want to hear what age I am anymore. At least I still have eight years to go before I reach the big four-oh...
