I caught a few colorized episodes from the first season on Hallmark yesterday, the first time I had seen them. The colorization is relatively good, but there's still something about it that looks fake. Call me a purist, but I'd rather have them show it in black and white.

That said, it's nice to see that the network is showing all the episodes in order, rather than just seasons three through eight.

I don't know what is is about black and white.

But black and white just seems to leave something to the imagination which in my mind lends to the whole show. Almost like reading a book where there is no actual limit to what the story may hold. Color then leaves very little to the imagination which then becomes kinda of in your face.

Even Gomer Pyle for cryinoutloud seems to be better to me anyway in black and white.

I was excited when I found out the old episodes where on Hallmark but I admit when I saw that they were in color I was disappointed.

The colorizing is pretty good, better than it was in the 80's
although i'm against altering b and w, really.
What gets me is the way the Hallmark versions are edited.
I know that shows have to be edited to about 22 and a half
minutes for more commercial time, but the bits they leave out
are often the best lines.

Yikes! I can't believe they would even think of touching those B&W eps. First Gilligan's Island, and now Bewitched. Just imagine how awful it would be if they were to colorize I Love Lucy!
