Almost every day lately, I'm seeing a mouse in my house! I'm starting to clean-up my house, I've been spraying mint spray, and playing noises that annoy mice!

But...they can't seem to leave! I'm planning on getting some mice repellent and traps that I don't have to see a mouse corpse... that's the last thing I want to see!

Plus... I live in a rental and I'm afraid someone will rat me and I get a warning or worse... eviction!

Use PURE peppermint oil - not mint spray or peppermint extract. The peppermint oil is VERY INTENSE and could irritate your skin if you get some on you. Get a pint sized spray bottle and put 70-100 drops of the oil in bottle with 14-15 oz water and spray all around the baseboards. Do this 3x a day for 2-3 days and they will disappear. Works like a charm for me.

If you are in a rental, than it is the Landlords problem!!! Why would you be in trouble? If anyone is in trouble it would be the person renting a property to you that has rodents! That is a health violation! They are slumlords if they are renting knowing there are rodents or bugs in the residence ! :( Tell the Landlord at once about the mice ! It is up to them to do something about it. If they don't,they can get in big trouble with the building code/housing authority and board of health ! ;)

I refuse to use poison since I'll have a worse problem than live mice or glue traps since I don't want to see a mouse die (some do escape glue traps too) nor use mouse traps that I see the mouse.

Regardless of what your landlady says, check the law for your locality. (I live in NYC and here IT IS the landlord's responsibility.). Go to a local government office and ask how you can find out what the law is for Cleveland.

On another note, mint extract is MUCH WEAKER ths peppermint oil; it may not work. You can get pure PEPPERMINT OIL at Whole Foods or most natural food stores. The peppermint oil has worked perfectly for me.

Caveat: Your apt. will smell like an intense candy cane factory, which I certainly didn't mind. Also if you have pets you need to check if it's OK to use this oil around them.

We had a few problems too. A friend of mine had a little wheelbarrow and a rake both made from marsapan for his birthday. He is a landscaper. He didn't want them so I ended up with it. It was cute. A week or so passed and I notice sections of the rake getting shorter. A few days later looked behind our Vitamix machine and mice droppings and little teeth marks on the rim of the wheelbarrow. I had seen enough of the barrow and withered rake so heaved it out. I cleaned like crazy. First thing I heard is Close the Restaurant and they disappear. I put everything in the fridge or bag stuff up. I haven't physically seen the critters.

Well... I may get mint oil and natural rodent repellent online.

Right now, I'm using Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets...that temporarily repels mice...or so I heard.

We used moth balls in our travel trailer. I have also heard that sprinkling hot pepper powder(Cayenne ) around the perimeter of your house repels them. They are tough to deter. They can get in through the tiniest places. What we do here at home is put out De-Con around inside the garage as that seems to be where the mice get into the house from. We haven't had a mouse problem since doing that.

And not that I'm heartless but I want the mice in my house dead! They are dirty and poop and pee all over the place. Yes, they're cute and all of that but not in my house! I say just use a regular mousetrap and give them a swift death. To me they are no different than rats. And I sure wouldn't be humane to a rat! Kill! Kill! Kill!:lol:

Yes mothballs are really potent. When we winterize our RV in the Fall(when the mice start looking for a place to nest) we put mothballs all over the place. Usually by Spring they have pretty much evaporated. The odor is still there but slight and after we open up the windows the smell quickly disappears. We also put out poison. They eat the poison which makes them very very thirsty so they run back outside and look for water. Then they die outside. Nope, I don't feel sorry for them. They're vermin!

I bought four disposable mouse traps where the mouse enters and...the end.

I don't have to see the dead mouse but the only problem is... I can only use them once.

I hope four will work. I think one mouse escaped from one...how?
