Kelsey Grammer was a virtual unknown before Cheers and Frasier, only having done small parts in some movies. After Frasier ended, he was in a couple of short lived sitcoms. So you can say that Cheers and Frasier was his claim to fame.

David Hyde Pierce is mostly a stage actor although he did have a couple of small parts in some movies before and after Frasier; Little Man Tate, Sleepless in Seattle, etc. He was even in a short lived sitcom The Powers That Be before Frasier. Frasier is what he came known for.

Jane Leeves was a dancer in England before becoming an actress. She did The Benny Hill Show in England before coming to the US. Once she got here, her career took off. She started out as a recurring character on Murphy Brown as Audrey Cohen, Miles' girlfriend before hitting it big on Frasier. She also was in a one episode arc on Who's The Boss, playing Ms. Adams and was on an episode of Mr. Belvedere and Blossom. She then went on to do Hot In Cleveland.
