During January of this year, I started a thread on this page and called it "Holding the Purses". This thread concentrated on the first-season episode called "Sopha's Choice". This title was clearly a play on words in regards to the classic movie "Sophie's Choice". I happen to know a lot of situations in which there is an episode of a show that is a play on words of a famous movie, play, song or any other piece of media that the audience would be familiar with. Back when I posted my "Holding the Purses" thread, I mentioned a syndication network here in New Jersey. This network broadcasts a lot of classic TV shows. One series that they show an episode of every weekend is "Happy Days". A while back, they showed an episode called "Our Gang". In this episode, the character of Chachi wanted to join a street gang called the Lords. For those of you who may not know, "Our Gang" was the original title of the "Little Rascals". Another example of an episode of a show being based on a famous piece of media. The fact that I am first writing about it now is because I have had a lot else on my plate at the moment. One thing that has taken up a good chunk of my time is dealing with a sleep disorder that has been a part of my life since very early childhood. Just in case anyone is interested in what my sleep disorder is like and how it effects my life, I have devoted a thread to this topic on the "Gimme a Break!" page of this site. Just in case anyone is interested in reading it, I will bring it to the top of that page right after I submit this message.
