There should have spinoffs from A different world

1. Walter's life in Philadelphia running the community center. Jaleesa would hsve eventually joined him in Philly in season two. (She and Walter were better together than her and Colonel Taylor!). So she could have moved there to be close to Walter. As well as her family in Jersey.

2. Mr. Gaines, retires from the pit, divorces Velma, and moves to the Everglades in Florida.

I saw a documentary on Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert) in which the actors who played Whitley, Dwayne, Freddie, & Ron were asked to do a spin-off after ADW was over, but Jasmine Guy, who had grown to dislike her character (unfortunately) didn't want to do anything else that had to do with Whitley.

Too incredibly bad for us fans! :(

If anyone wants to know, it was said here:

(And re: the 2 ideas above in the OP, I don't know how long those spin-offs would have lasted. No one gives a flying fig about Mr. Gaines & frankly I don't care that much for Walter personally either.)

Well heck! They could have done it without her!

Yeah, but since she was THE MAIN character, I don't know how long the show would have lasted & we don't know how the other 3 actors felt about doing it. Whether the other 3 really wanted to do it or not, the idea wasn't a go. :(

I agree. I don't blame her if she gotten tired of that role. It would have been a good spinoff.

Yep, true fans like us still would have watched because we like the show anyway.
