Anything that pertains to the word sitcom!
purple_eyes 01-27-2001, 12:15 AM If you email your suggestions at www.columbiahouse.com (http://www.columbiahouse.com) they are forwarded to the corporate office for review. If enough requests are submitted (pending contract negotiations) then the series will be added. Examples, Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, I Love Lucy (DVD), and others.
purple_eyes, could you please post your 'I Love Lucy to DVD' message on the I Love Lucy board again - I think about 10 new topics were lost and that was one of them. I received notifcation of your message but didn't get a chance to read it, thanks!
also do you know of CH's plans beyond DS and FOL? what else is cooking?
Purple_eyes: I would like to know as well and also, I was wondering about how many requests approx. does it take for Columbia House to consider releasing a seris. Im guessing 1000 but i dont know for sure. Let me know if you would.
thanks.

purple_eyes 02-08-2001, 11:52 PM Sorry all, didn't get any notice of these posts.
FOL -- update
We recently received the contracts for The Cosby Show and Roseanne and because of these contracts we've decided to push the release of Facts of Life back to April. But I do have more info about the FOL tapes. They are being released like Diff'rent Strokes, tapes with episodes about the same character and such. But...we do have plans for the entire series.
We also began carrying Batman Beyond, I Love Lucy on DVD, and have plans for Babylon 5 DVD and Star Trek: The Next Generation on DVD.
purple_eyes 02-08-2001, 11:56 PM The number of requests it takes for us to get a series varies. If a show was really popular, like Roseanne, we don't need any requests at all to acquire the series. The Facts of Life was slightly different. In one year we received over 10,000 requests, mainly from a nationwide petition.
TJ - I'll repost the I Love Lucy info on that board. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
purple_eyes 02-09-2001, 12:04 AM Sorry - Forgot to mention Hart To Hart and SWAT are both coming in April as well. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
Chocoholic 02-11-2001, 12:39 AM I wouldn't mind seeing Wings released on video. That show was awesome!
Attmay 02-16-2001, 12:30 PM Me? Which sitcoms do I want to see from Columbia House?

Gimme a Break (I still can't shake the memories of how badly edited the USA network tapes were)
Golden Girls/Golden Palace (if Disney will license it)
Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman
Maude
Newhart
Night Court
One Day at a Time
Punky Brewster
Silver Spoons
Square Pegs

Good Times
I Dream of Jeannie
The Jeffersons
Sanford & Son
Soap
munstercity 02-18-2001, 02:57 AM Purple Eyes, thx for the updated info. 2 Quick Questions. What is the chance that all of the shows currently available will get a DVD release. If so, can we get a complete run instead of just 10 or 20 volumes as well.
Also, is there any chance of the some of the earlier releases like Gilligans Island, Untouchables, Rawhide etc to be repackaged in the smaller style cases. It would be nice to showcase them all in the same style casing
Lastly, my requests for release
The Munsters
McHale's Navy
Lone Ranger
thx
APPLEI 03-05-2001, 12:11 AM I WOULD LIKE TO SEE WKRP IN CINCINATI RELEASED WITH ORIGINAL MUSIC.
jaime_weinman 03-12-2001, 03:25 PM Purple_eyes, if you're out there: Is it true that Columbia House is no longer able to release series owned by Fox? The reason I ask is that, as a WKRP In Cincinnati nut who's dismayed at the lack of 'KRP on video (just one very badly chosen set with cuts and music changes and none of the most famous episodes), I was considering creating and circulating a petition for a Columbia House "WKRP" release. But since 'KRP is owned by Fox now, would it do any good for me to circulate such a petition, or could CH get the show if there was enough demand?
MitchTV 03-13-2001, 10:49 PM At what times (purple eyes) are Rosanne and The Cosby Show coming out? These are 2 of my very favorite sitcoms.

Without question, the series I'd most like to see Columbia House pick up for DVD "treatment" would be The Love Boat. I'd also love to see Benson and Trapper John, MD on DVD as well.
I doubt if The Love Boat will ever come to DVD or video. So, barring that, I wish I could find someone who had the series on tape--beyond what TV Land is currently airing. I'm looking for episodes past the first five years, without any luck so far.

Pavan 07-17-2002, 07:43 PM Thunder27263, Bosom Buddies is not coming to Columbia House right now atleast. Why are you keep saying it over and over?
And why are you saying it's already on Columbia House? Stop posting false information. From now on everyone please do not listen to any facts or info from Thunder27263, because I've seen his posts and they are absolutely false. Thunder27263, just post opinions from now on.
Impressions 07-17-2002, 08:11 PM I'd love to see The Facts of Life in a DVD box set, but I doubt that will ever happen and some of the classics in DVD like:
