Before Mariah Carey made it huge in the music world there was Laura Branigan and she became popular with the song Gloria that made her a household name in 1982. Laura Branigan also had hits with the songs Self Control and The Power Of Love. And so I am asking if you remember listening to Laura Branigan? It is surprising that Laura Branigan is no longer living but she had some awesome songs that are really cool

I also loved Spanish Eddie. I couldn't believe it when we lost her.

Some awesome, really cool songs, indeed. Should of been a lot more.

I was a Branigan fan back in the day, good singer, she was most popular from 1984 till about 1987 and released three good albums during that time, Self Control, Hold Me, and Touch. After that, her popularity faded and she wasn't heard from that much anymore. She recorded a comeback album in 1990 but it wasn't successful. She's gone now, gone far too soon but she's definitely more than just a memory.
In fact, Laura recorded a song with that same exact title, More Than Just A Memory. It's on You Tube if anyone wants to look it up and listen.

Did Laura Branigan have a song called How Can I Help You Say Goodbye? Because the first time I heard that song country singer Patty Loveless sang it and it's such a beautiful ballad

Yes, the song appears on her final studio album/CD. The CD is titled Over My Heart, released in 1993.

Laura's best albums are Self Control, Hold Me, and Touch. Those three albums were made during the peak of her career and contain the majority of her best songs. Her other albums aren't as good, recommended only for the most devoted fans who want to have all her albums.
