Roseanne is my favorite syndicated comedy, other than Diff'rent Strokes, which is not even on television anywhere anymore. I love the characters, and my favorite episodes are the ones from Seasons 1-4. My favorite episodes are entitled Lobocop and Toto, We're Not in Kansas Anymore. I like when Roseanne, Jackie, Crystal, and Mary-Anne work at Wellman's Plastic Factory. I also enjoy the episodes when Rosie works with Bonnie at Rodbells Restaurant. Dan was the best when he worked for "Four Aces Construction." I believe that the show went downhill when they changed the actress who portrayed Rebecca "Becky" Conner from Lecy Goranson to Sarah Chalke. It was never the same with the new actress. Also, I disliked when they brought David and Mark in as new characters.

I think it's funny, but I don't think it really should be on N@N. Look at the Cosby Show. It's being shown to death and people are begingin to get sick of it. I don't want that happen to Roseanne, and just think about the editing. They cut the hell out of FOL and like refused to about 10 episodes. Roseanne is still young and I think it's ok on TBS.

What's wrong with Roseanne? Where do I begin. I'm aware there are fans of this show and thats ok I don't want to offend any one here, but Roseanne is an awful show. It can stay on TBS. N@N is for classic tv only,in other words shows that should have been off the air for at least 10-15 years, but N@N has just gotten Dumb. Dose any one want to see her after she embarrases the United States after sining the natinal anthem at a baseball all star game:mad: This show is unfunny and not family oreinted. I'm sorry for getting upset, but Roseanne is just not suitable for N@N IMO. Just a warning to Roseanne fans. Roseanne will probably air just like cosby and cheers and people that like the show will get sick of it fast which is sad. Plain and Simple N@N is just plain bad.

as much as I like this show, I have to admit that Roseanne gets played a bit too much. TBS already shows THREE episodes a day during the week, plus many of local stations still air it too. Both of our local UPN channels still carry it.

Whats the point of bringing this show to Nick@Nite?

If the TV people were really smart, they would take Roseanne out of syndication for at least 2 years and THEN put it on Nick@Nite.

Pav, I'm confused, If N@N wants to air sitcoms that have good family values and functional families, why would they be picking up Roseanne??? The Conners wasn't that much different from the Bundys

N@N will definitely edit Roseanne too much. I bet they will take out a bunch of funny things that stations like TBS will still show.

More info on Oxygen is in:
Come September 22, Oxygen will add reruns of Roseanne to its schedule, with two episodes airing weekdays in the 6 p.m. ET hour and at noon.

A full release will likely come, since it was announced at the TCA tour yesterday. Interesting that both Nick@Nite and Oxygen will start it around the same time; Nick@Nite on the 21st and Oxygen on the 22nd. I'm guessing TBS will last air it on the 19th, a Friday.

SHE’S BACK! THE ONE AND ONLY ROSEANNE JOINS THE NICK AT NITE PRIME TIME LINE-UP THIS SEPTEMBER

Nick at Nite to Launch Popular Series in Special "All-Night" Five-Day Marathon

Hollywood, CA, July 8, 2003 -- Roseanne, one of the most talked-about and celebrated sitcoms in history joins the Nick at Nite lineup beginning September 21, 2003. Roseanne’s poignant, funny and true-to-life stories of a blue-collar family stars Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf. The show’s superb writing and talented cast earned numerous Emmy, Golden Globe, People's Choice, and American Comedy awards, as well as the coveted Peabody and Humanitas prizes. Roseanne kicks off with a five-day marathon on Sunday, Sept. 21-Thursday, Sept. 25 from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM (all times ET/PT). Roseanne will begin airing in its regularly-scheduled timeslot in double plays from 11:00 PM-12 AM and 2:00-3:00 AM every night beginning Friday, Sept.26.

“Roseanne’s huge popularity has translated into phenomenal performances in syndication, proving it is a classic, now and forever,” said Larry W. Jones, Executive Vice President and General Manger, TV Land and Nick at Nite. “We are thrilled to have this award-winning series join Nick at Nite’s primetime line-up.”

The popular series focuses on the life of Roseanne Conner, a blue-collar working mother with a big mouth, big sense of humor and an even bigger personality. Roseanne not only tends to her home, takes care of her three kids -- Becky, Darlene and D.J. -- (Lecy Goranson and later Sarah Chalke; Sarah Gilbert and Michael Fishman) she also takes care of husband Dan (John Goodman) who was also her high school sweetheart. She does all of this – in addition to working eight-hour days to ensure all the bills are paid.

Descending from a long line of blue-collar comedies such as The Honeymooners and All in the Family, Roseanne was unconventional in a variety of ways that fit modern times. In this comedy, the mother was the center of the family; both parents worked; they were not glamorous or physically ideal compared to sitcom stars of the past and the mother never failed to have a sarcastic, sometimes-insulting comment for her children. It was all in good fun though and each comment and joke was accompanied by a laugh. Constantly short of money, the Conners always found laughter in their lives.

Other regulars on the hit show throughout its run were: Jackie Harris (Laurie Metcalf), Roseanne’s younger sister who eventually became a cop; Crystal Anderson (Natalie West), Roseanne’s best friend who later married Dan’s father Ed (Ned Beatty) and became her mother-in-law; Mark (Glen Quinn), Becky’s husband and David (Johnny Galecki) who the Conner family allowed to move into their home after he and daughter Darlene dated. Darlene and David were later married. Other characters who appeared on the sitcom throughout its run were: Booker (George Clooney), the foreman at the factory Jackie and Roseanne worked at and Jackie’s love interest for the first season; Leon Carp (Martin Mull), Roseanne’s boss at the diner she later worked at and finally Bev (Estelle Parsons), Roseanne and Jackie’s meddling mother.

TBS usually shows the same versions as local stations (except for minor cuts like the "whore" lines). N@N shows different versions of shows. Maybe Roseanne will be like that on N@N.

I agree that Nick at Nite made a dumb move adding Roseanne to schedule. They are going to edit out ALL the good parts and leave nothing. I love Roseanne but I probably won't be watching it on N@N. I might try to watch it on Oxygen to see if they edit everything out but I really think TBS was the perfect place for this show.

If you think about it, ABC was really brave back in the day to let so many questionable things air.
