I mentioned this briefly on another page and I got some very positive feedback from it so here I'll go into a little more detail about MeTV's new music channel:
That's right. MeTV, the TV station you all know and love (and which I could never get) also has a music station as well. MeTV announced their entry into the music business last spring with the introduction of a new classic hits channel WRME at 87.7 FM in Chicago. After a little more than one year, it is already among the Top 20 radio stations in the Chicago area. To celebrate their surprisingly rapid growth, the MeTV staff have decided to offer their music worldwide. As of today, you still can't listen live to the actual radio station online but you can hear the entire playlist (so far) in a special pop-up player that you can get from the Me-TV homepage which I will display below and this player has the following features that you can enjoy at any time:
---A continuous supply of songs ranging from Oldies (50s and 60s - my personal favourite era) to Classic Pop and Rock Hits (70s and 80s --- these make up the majority of songs on the playlist) and even a few TV themes thrown in.
---Info about each song and artist that is played.
---No commercials except for a few brief Me-TV promos that range from 3 to 15 seconds. That's all.
---A fast-forward button at the bottom of the player that allows you to skip the songs that you don't want to hear. There is no limit to how many songs that you can skip or how many you can hear.
---On the web page which contains information about the radio station, which is the 2nd link below, there is a list of recently played songs. Below each song, you are given two choices where you can tell the station to play that song more or less depending on how much you like it.
----There is also a request form on both links where you can request a song that you want them to play for you. Don't forget to include your e-mail address so they can contact you to let you know when they'll be playing your song.
That's all you need to know for now. Here's the link where you can listen to the online station for yourself and find more info about it:
