I can't believe that it's been 10 years since the ultimate year of series finales, 1992. I'll never forget that year (even though I was 11).

In fact it's almost 10 years to the day (Saturday, April 25, 1992) when ABC said goodbye to 3 of it's veteran shows. ABC aired an hour series finale of Who's the Boss?, Growing Pains and MacGyver. I still remember watching Who's the Boss and Growing Pains on that night.

Then on Thursday, April 30, 1992, NBC aired the hour long series finale of The Cosby Show. Again, I was glued to the set.

Then of course on Saturday, May 9, 1992, NBC bid adieu to yet another series that made the network a success in the 80's, The Golden Girls.

On Wednesday, May 13, 1992, NBC aired the hour long series finale of Night Court.

Jake & the Fatman and Dear John also aired their final episodes, that spring.

It can be said that no other year ever saw this many megahit shows come to an end.

1993 is a close runner up with A Different World, Cheers, Knots Landing, Designing Women, Major Dad, Doogie Howser, M.D., Life Goes On and The Wonder Years ending.
