Classic TV shows released on DVD in INDIVIDUAL SEASON releases.

With the exception of Warner Archive, it seems DVD companies are only releasing classic TV shows in complete series box sets instead of individual seasons.

Anyone know of any exceptions to this?

I know Warner Archive does individual seasons and Shout! Factory is currently releasing "Newhart" in season sets rather than one big series set.

I'm still holding out hope for CBS/Paramount to release the rest of "Happy Days", "Petticoat Junction" and "The Beverly Hillbillies." But, yes, it doesn't look hopeful.

I see this as both a good thing and a bad thing, mostly good. Firsts complete series sets are usually cheaper then buying several individual season sets. Also it saves on shelf space. And its quicker to buy the whole show all at once then just one season here one season there.
However, what if you dvds get damaged then you stuck buying the whole show again, at least with individual sets you only need to rebuy one season.

I was thinking about this a few days ago when I bought a couple of complete series that had 2 seasons released that I had bought already. I had to buy the complete version to finish the set.

I saw a few of the later season sold individually but it was much cheaper just to buy the whole thing with the duplicates.

My mind still reels at the thought that the "Beverly Hillbillies" has not been completed.

:yeahthat. TBH is a hugely popular show. I still can't get over it hasn't been completed. It should've been done with years ago.

I know. It, Petticoat Junction and Green Acres should have been completed a long time ago!

Shout has reallt disappointed me this year. Absolutely nothing good except maybe the remaining seasons of Newhart which I'm not a huge fan of anyways. I had high hopes for them but now they haven't been releasing as many sitcoms.
