I played second base and shortstop in highschool, I played for about four years altogether, but quit when I was about 16. I loved it, but I had to quit - something tragic happened to one of the girls on our team. I always wished I'd kept up with it though.

I haven't played in some years, but when I did I played catcher. If my knee's weren't so bad from Basketball, I would probably still be playing :) Good luck with trying out for pitcher.

I used to play. I started when I was in second grade, and played until 6th grade.
For the first three years, I played shortstop. Which was fun, but at times it was too much responsilbility. It was good that I was switched to second base, which I felt much more comfortable with.
The last two years I played, I played on great teams. 5th grade, we got third place. I changed divisions in 6th and was on a totally different team, which ended up being awesome. We kicked ass, for lack of a better word.
AND we had the coolest name in the league. Since our color was Aqua, we named ourselves "The Aqua Fresh". On our banner, each of our names were on little toothbrushes with the teams name on a big toothpaste bottle.
It was a lot of fun, and I deeply regret quitting after that year. I guess I thought I was too cool for it. Stupid me.

Hey
I played shortstop last year, my first year. I played every game in every inning except one game I was taken out for the last 2 innings becasue I had to-league rules. I played more than everyone else on my team. I was on All-Stars last year also.
This year I am second base. I play fastpitch this year with girls 13-16. I am 13 and have been playing for two years, this year being my second year. And my number is 1!
Good luck getting pitcher Sam!

Ha, you're kidding! I've been playing with a ball ever since I could grasp one in my palm and been playing softball ever since I could walk. I love it entirely. I've played every position and am currently playing shortstop for the second year in a row for my highschool team. There is few things I would rather do than play softball!

I didn't know so many liked softball! Cool

I didn;t get pitcher and got humiliated in front of everyone at my game b/c my stupid coasch that is also my friend's dad said I dodn't touch the plate when I did. He is such a jerk! The ump said I did the fans said I did, my other coach said I did but he is so stupid!!!!!

okokok. I am ok.

I love softball so much! I hate leftfield b/c it is really muddy in our park. We had a game last week and beat them 21 -5. they are L&M tire, and we are Junes Sub Shop. My friend Heather who is on our team, got a really bad injury. SHe got hit in the ankle really bad and she was benched.

It really depends. Our home field is a nice one, but when we go on away games there's really no telling what to expect. I've played on a field that the infield was like I was at the beach and it to forever to move my feet-the ball died when it hit the dirt-it was horrible. I've played in a field by the woods so I got home and discovered tons of redbug bites all over me. I've played on an all dirt field and me being an infielder it was hard to determine how much ground I had to carry. I've played on a field right by a baseball field so balls were flying on our field constantly-VERY annoying. I've played on a field with no fences at all, except for the backstop behind the catcher. I've played in a field about 500ft up and felt like I was gasping for air. And last but not least, I've played on a field consisting of a tree in center and concrete blocks here and there-it also had no fences and very little grass. Yep, it's entertaining to say the least.

Hmm...I've never said 'I've' so many times in my life I don't think...WOW...that outta last me a few months.

our fields suck we have 2 a big and a lil one and they have bumps everywhere and dandelions growin in um and our dugouts are written all over I think it looks worse than the field in "hardball"

The fields I play on for tournaments are wicked nice with lights, grounds people, concession stands, dugouts... The fields I play on around here, for my regular city team, are...pretty bad. There is one semi-nice one. Let me put it this way, we are usually happy if there is a full bench or even one at all. They just built a new field, but I haven't played on it yet. It might be nice. Most fields have other games going on nearby and the field near the basketball court is so loud. We've had to stop games for men's leagues who hit balls into our games. One time someone took a rubber and put it on another field so I didn't have one. Oh well. It's still fun! :D
