"Devious Maids" Canceled at Lifetime after 4 Seasons
by Kaitlin Thomas
9/1/16

Lifetime has fired the help. The network has canceled the soapy drama "Devious Maids" after four seasons, TVGuide.com has learned.

Created by "Desperate Housewives'" Marc Cherry and produced by Eva Longoria, "Devious Maids" centered on a handful of Latina maids working for the rich and powerful in Beverly Hills. It was originally developed for ABC but moved to Lifetime after ABC passed.

Although the series debuted strong for the network, the ratings for the Season 4 finale -- now series finale -- drew only a 0.3 rating in adults ages 18 to 49, with fewer than 900,000 total viewers.

I liked this show. Several characters were extremely good, like the couple Evelyn and Adrian.

Gonna miss it. Carmen and the Powell's could be pretty funny.

Agreed. I loved the maids but the Powells were something else. I'd love to see a show just about them.

My sister met Ana Ortiz in NYC for a Campbell's Soup event around Oct. 2013.

Ortiz told her if the show didn't have a strong online fanbase (live-tweeting) that it would have been canceled much earlier on.

Random fact but me and Ana Ortiz have the exact birthday and year.
