After years of being a poor shoe salesman, Al/Jay realized the money wasn't in selling shoes, but providing a nice closet setup to organize the shoes. He quits his job at Gary's Shoes and devotes all his time to closets. He leaves Peggy in Chicago, moves to California, makes it big, and finds a nice trophy wife in Gloria.

Bud/Mitchell finally comes to grasp with his sexuality. His whole obsession with getting laid in high school was just overcompensating for his confusion. After years of struggling, he finally comes out of the closet, stop dying his hair and embrace his gay ginger self.

Kelly/Claire got around in high school in college. Every guy wanted her, and she let them have her. But, she did mature and started to look for other qualities in a man. She settled down with a funny, reliable guy in Phil...the opposite of the bad boys she used to be attracted to.
