A former actor who starred in the original Degrassi High series is facing more than two dozen charges related to child pornography and sexual abuse following a months-long investigation by Toronto police.
Jason Dickens, who is also known as Byrd Dickens, has been charged with possession of and accessing child pornography, making available child pornography, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference and bestiality, following an investigation that began back in January.
Dylan Anne McEwen, 31, was also arrested in the investigation and is facing multiple counts related to child pornography, sexual assault. Police said Dickens and McEwen were a couple but declined to elaborate further.
Police say during their investigation they found evidence that a man and woman were engaged in the sexual abuse of children and animals.
Dickens, 45, played student Scott Smith on the original “Degrassi High” series.
A 57-year-old London, Ont. woman is also facing multiple charges in relation to the investigation. In addition, Tina Ewen, 25, of Thunder Bay, has been charged by Thunder Bay police with "make child pornography."
