Two months after news broke that Nancy Grace would not renew her contract after 12 years with HLN, the network announced Thursday it will not move forward with production on another show hosted by one of its long-time on-air personalities, Dr. Drew Pinsky.

The network’s executive vice president, Ken Jautz, issued a statement regarding "Dr. Drew On Call’s" cancellation, saying he and Pinsky “have mutually agreed to air the final episode of his show on Sept. 22.”

Jautz’s statement continues:

“Dr. Drew and his team have delivered more than five years of creative shows and I want to thank them for their hard work and distinctive programming. Their audience-driven shows, in particular, were innovative and memorable TV. And Dr. Drew has been an authoritative voice on addiction and on many other topical issues facing America today.”

Dr. Drew's statement reads:

“It has been a privilege working at HLN. My executive producer Burt Dubrow and our outstanding staff and contributors were consistently exceptional. I am very excited to stay within the CNN Worldwide family as a contributor.”

"Dr. Drew On Call’s" final episode airs Sept. 22 on HLN. Reruns of "Forensic Files" and other CNN original programs will take "On Call’s" place in its absence until a permanent replacement is announced.

Dr. Drew Pinsky began hosting the nightly program —which airs Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. ET — in 2011. He also ended his long-running radio show, Loveline, in April after more than three decades of broadcast.

He previously hosted the VH1 reality show, "Celebrity Rehab", from 2008 to 2012.
