I see that ME TV is now cutting short the closing of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW by about 10 seconds. Unfortunately, I fear that in about a year or so they're going to start splitting the screen like Antenna TV does.

Unfortunately, I fear that in about a year or so they're going to start splitting the screen like Antenna TV does. tlc38tlc38 08-22-2016, 05:52 PM Could this possibly have something to do with TAGS not being shown on all MeTV stations (some air Mayberry RFD)? PhoenixAcres 08-22-2016, 08:43 PM I haven't noticed any clipped endings on AG lately, at least around here. There's no telling what your local affiliate might be doing though, considering some, I've read, often pre-empt entire programs in favor of local news, etc. I sincerely hope MeTV doesn't adopt that miserable credit-crunch system. They seem to be the only ones that still care about showing the full closings, although some shows' scenes are edited quite harshly. tlc38tlc38 08-22-2016, 08:51 PM Sometimes before the beginning of shows, local stations will air the time and temp and this may cause the beginning of the show to be clipped by a second. bgva 08-22-2016, 11:57 PM I don't think they'll start squeezing credits or anything. I've noticed they sometimes clip off part of the closing credits of Taxi, or they'll speed up the theme song of other shows. Usually the credits begin with clips of each cast member, then the producer, etc. credits, but sometimes it starts straight at the producer credits (start at about :11 to see what I mean). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0h34ECADiw treky 08-23-2016, 12:50 AM well, they didn't do it tonight so whether it's ME TV doing it or my local affiliate (and I strongly suspect it's the affiliate) I hope they've stopped and that ME TV NEVER does that split-screen thing. |
