Forget all the other TV Dads being considered best, I will go to my grave saying Hugh Beaumont's Ward Cleaver was the best TV Dad out there.

Understanding, loving, tough when he had to be, holding his kids accountable, and never flying off the handle at Beaver's silly debacles/jams.

Ward was most certainly one of the greatest. Firm when necessary, devoted 100% of the time, and a true role model.

I liked Ward too. Seems like the best dads are the ones that made plans to have children and not be willy nilly about the whole thing.
