Kathy Jo's birth on Petticoat Junction!:) But it was bittersweet really because Kate/ Bea Benaderet was very ill at this point from cancer and wasn't able to be in this show!:( There was a stand in for Bea in a couple short scenes ,and they only showed her from the back!:confused: I didn't know this back than being a little girl, so young back than first run at the time (I'm thinking most people really didn't figure it out back than) ? :confused: ! But knowing it now, it's sad!:(

But as far as the show went , Kathy Jo's birth was a joyous, sweet event for Mom and Dad, Betty Jo and Steve, Aunts, Uncle Joe and the whole Hooterville Valley!:) ;) But a shame Grandma Kate couldn't really have been a big part of this ep!

Oh you should see it!! It really was sweet and funny!!!!:) Except that her Mom in the show was so ill,and couldn't participate ,that was sad! :( Betty Jo was a tomboy when she was young before she met and fell in love with Steve (that's my crush,the handsome Mike Minor)! :) ;) :wave:

She knows how to operate the train! And the conductor Wendle was too overwhelmed, flabbergasted and nervous worrying about how he was going to do getting Betty Jo to the hospital when she went into labor that he couldn't sleep nights!!! :eek: :confused: But it ended up he fell asleep ,and nobody could wake him up when Betty Jo went into labor , and SHE, Betty Jo drove the train herself pregnant and in labor to the hospital herself with the whole town on board!!! ;) :lol: :D :wave:

Sven, Honey this was like 1968 or so! Woman's liberation was TOTALLY coming in fashion!!! It was showing a really strong woman that could even drive a big a**ed old train herself to the hospital while being in labor about to have a baby!!! It was a TOTALLY sweet country show but hey it was giving a nod to women's lib big time!!! :lol: :D :wave:
