Indeed so! From The Wizard of Odds in 1973 on NBC, through this from 1974-76 originally, then Double Dare on CBS, and others, through to Jeopardy!, he has indeed come a long way.

I remember watching High Rollers on TV when I was a kid. I always liked it and Alex Trebek on there. I think it's the first game show I saw him on.

That Afro of his in the 70s definitely made him look like Mr. Kotter, that's for certain.
